There was a chiropodist directly across the street from me until a couple of years ago. That means that the closest is now a hairdressers at the bottom of the hill. It was a coffee place for a lot of years before that. Before that it was a decent sized town centre home.

A bank, convenience store, dry cleaner and tailor are about equidistant from mine.

(1) Artisanal micro-brewpub and taco shop.
(2) Asian grocery, specializing in Thai, but with nice Filipino and East Indian sections, too.
(3) Middle School my grand daughter attended until last year.

There's a Thai restaurant next door to me, a club on the other side, a laundry across, and within one block I have two grocery stores, several pubs and restaurants, and a pharmacy.

Like a lot of places, the town centre nearest to me has seen better times. It's seen times just as bad mind you too.
