I don't mind them introducing new minority characters but the Rannz twins change doesn't sit well with me. Cosmic Boy on the other hand...I confess for some reason I thought he looked asian when I was a kid. So that didn't bother me. I really don't understand the changing of race of a classic character if it's not a new character. It alienates many people...including the people of the race they were changed to.
I am also not a big Bendis fan. But the art and excitement has me interested. It's been so long since I enjoyed something Legion.

Via Instagram/Twitter - brianmbendis's profile picture brianmbendis Verified Broadcasting live from @dccomics in Burbank where I was bequeathed the first ever, newly designed, awesome sauce, legion flight ring. Coming soon to an awesome retailer or convention near you! i might be in the men’s room lightly sobbing tears of joy #legionofsuperheroes #longlivethelegion @rsookart Interesting that Bendis is wearing the ring old-school style on the right ring finger rather than the middle finger which is how it seems they wear it in his own book.

In color! Via Alex Sinclair's Instagram/Twitter. Somewhere on Facebook, someone noted that the possible Projectra (between Booster Gold's left leg and OMAC's right arm) seems to be wearing a snakeskin design on parts of her costume. That long skirt(?) is snakey too. And Ibby, between Colossal Boy and Booster, that green-garbed, red-haired female makes me think of Kinetix. I wonder why Brainy has 3 lights on his pelvis.

I wonder why Brainy has 3 lights on his pelvis. Everyone in the pic thinks that Brainy has been working on a weapon to defeat the Big Bad. Instead, he's been working on his Lurv Machine. Note how it's pointed at Kara.

Bendis' run opens on Colu...
"You'll go blind!" shouts Mrs Brainiac 4 through the lab door, suspicious of some intensive lumna organ playing going on.
Realising the wisdom of his mom's words, Brainy instead begins work on a time bubble...and the rest is future history.

The lights on Brainiac 5s pelvis might be a replacement for his belt which had a force field.

Probably just a coincidence, but now I'm tempted to go through the lists to figure out skeleton guy.

While EDE looks up Death-In-A-Can Lad, from the Bits of Adventure #244, I shall pause for a sad moment as Monster Boy didn't turn out to be The Weirdo Legionnaire.

Is this real information? If so, doesn't this duplicate Chameleon Boy's power?
Is that the best they could come up with in creating this new character?? Wow, I hope not.

I think this is all fan speculation. He asked the fans what planet Monster Boy should be from but did not mention who he is in the released images.

And I wouldn’t necessarily assume the powers won’t be changed/tweaked from what bits had to offer

I would be *very* surprised if Bendis's Monster Boy is in any way inspired by the character from the old Bits column.
Though if skeleton guy turns out to be named "Pajama Pat"...

There is a Legion preview at the end of this week's DC comics: - Cover (1 page) - A 2-pages spread named "Legion of Super-Heroes - Who are they ?" with an interview of Bendis and 2 illustrations: the one from the tv show and on its left, there is an illustration of the Legion's characters taken from the cover of Superman #15 where Ligthning Lad has been redrawn to match his change as shown on the tv show picture (he's now black instead of white, like he was on the 1st version of the cover of Superman #15). - A 2-pages spread about Millenium with interview from Bendis and the different artists of the Millenium issues. - A 2-pages spread named "The Team" with interview of Ryan Sook. the page on the right show character designs of Superboy (Jon Kent), Lightning Lad, Princess Projectra and Shrinking Violet! - A final page titled "The Road to Legion" with interview of Bendis and a checklist of the books on the bottom part of the page.
The character designs confim the pink skin colored character with white hair as Princess Projectra and the black character with pink or purple hair (green clothes) as Shrinking Violet.

I think it is disrespectful to all Legion fans, to introduce ourselves to Garth and Ayla first as they always have been, and then change them for African Americans.

They're presumably from Winath - not Africa, or America. So it's not about culture, it's literally just about skin tone?

Is not for the skin tone.... is for the change. I buy Superman 15 with the caucasian Garth in the cover. This last-minute change offends me as a Caucasian guy. Or can we not feel discriminated against too?

Oddly enough, the first time I saw Lightning Lad, I thought "why did they make him white in the comics?" (I thought he was Black Vulcan from "Superfriends") I do wonder if they're concerned about people confusing him for Black Lightning at this point - especially with keeping the color scheme and two downward lightning bolts on this chest.
