Issue 84 With Bruce and Selina off on their honeymoon, the various Bat stand-ins look to protect Gotham. Often from each other.

Issue 85
Bruce and Selina return to find the various Bat stand-ins tried to take down the same villain at the same time, and ended up clobbering each other.
Shrugging, Bruce and Selina call in the Justice League to help while they go on ANOTHER honeymoon. "Can't deal with this now!" Selina says.
Except... it's Booster's crew who show up !

It's the Crazy Bat 8s vs The JLI vs Bat Villains vs Guy Gardner, the one true Gold Lantern.

Issue 88: The team react to their glimpse last issue of the source of the Lantern power... beyond any one single colour...the Power of Plaid! This issue has an extra 6 pages. If Geoff Johns can get a fawning text piece for moving other people's creations around the board, and added single colours, think about how fawning our introduction of teh Swatch Lanternverse will be!
As they come to terms with the possibilities of the Lantern franchise, they find themselves on a girttier world. A world where mutants are persecuted, although there seems to be nothing but mutants and you need a scorecard to know who's who. Still dressed in Bat-Costumes, they take time out to beat up the Punisher before natasha realises they are in The Marvelverse.

Issue 90:
In a strange echo of another continuity, it's Marvel's Paladin who becomes the guardian of the Plaid Force. Caption King is lost in the cosmic maelstrom, explaining cosmic splash pages. Natasha, Moon Boy and Devil Dinosaur decide to stay in the Marvel universe, as there's better film prospects.
Sadly, the remaining heroes, Beetle, Booster, Ambush, Jonni and Waverider return to the DCU.

Issue 92:
Booster and Beetle's concession stand at The Dawn of Time has revitalised their bank accounts. From the hordes of heroes, villains all arriving and paradoxically needing to do things, even when time hasn;t actually started, the pair have made a fortune. Not to mention their imprinting service, where they have a word with the big villain hero or Damage to add certain conditions into the next universe.
In years to come, some fans would speculate that this issue was a cry from DC, who were blaming Booster and Beetle for the constant reboots.
Although allowed to keep their fortunes, their business is broken up by Jonni DC, who had enough to keep track of with the first DCU, never mind all the ones that have come and gone since.

It was only a matter of time before Jonni DC would get sick of reboots, and put things in the order she preferred. She could only watch so many Beetle and Booster continuity disasters before stepping in. Beetle, Booster, Bug and Waverider are forced to instigate the secret origins of all the main DC heroes. They divert a rocket from its original flight plan. They steal film cannisters, forcing a certain movie theatre to be playing Zorro. They throw a fake bat through window and dangle it on wires in a mansion. They mess with the manifest of a chemicals delivery to a Central City foresnics lab. Booster's force field prevents Abin Sur leaving a crashing space craft, using his power ring. Spend lots of time visiting Greek ruins, saying how good it would be to have the gods back. If only they had a sign. Adjust city plans to allow for odd extensions to subways.

Costume related crimes sweep the DCU! Read "I was an Unlaundered Super Sock!" Witness our heroes combat their nemesis, Argh!Yle! (Welll, Ambush's nemesis anyway)

The argument escalates to the point where Beetle throws Booster out of the Bug from a height of 2,000 miles.

Who fell out of the Bug, was it Booster or Beetle or both?
Who is safe, who was splattered? Or are they both toast, just in time for this anniversary issue which might conveniently be the last one?
Still "Fickles" to my friends.

Having been saved from the fall of #99 by making a splash in the liquid all splash #100, our refreshed heroes uncover the mystery of the Legionnaire who sacrificed himself to stop The Iron Hand of Space!
Disappointment when it turns out not to be a full Legionnaire, but a bloke who was standing within earshot of Kid Psycho when he was granted honorary membership. But Readers will one day mourn the Red Leotard Legionnaire. >sniff<

Part 2 of our murder mystery: Has Booster really killed Kamandi, so he can be the Last Boy on Earth? No! It turns out it was Ben Boxer, driven mad by talking animals who are descended from humans and non vocal humans descended from animals? "But...but...there's no difference! Can't you see?!" screams Ben as he races across the beach only to be crushed by a subsiding Statue of Liberty.
