Well, as some of you know, I email with Lardy sometimes and he wanted me to pass on to you guys that he's thinking of you and hopes you're all doing well. He recently had a job change and has a longer commute everyday, which combined with the little ones running around his house keeps him pretty busy. So he still won't be making it around LW for awhile, but he sends his best and hopes to try to come online when he can. Since he's a LMB legend, I thought this important info should be passed on . BTW- Lou, he says he looks forward to your Christmas card!

Good to know that Lardy still remembers us. Hope he can come visit soon (or I might have to whack him from the Christmas card list ).

I've been around here for over a year, and I've heard Lardy's name mentionned quite a bit, but have never interacted with him and don't recall seeing him on this board. Perhaps someone could fill the rest of us in on him.

I'll do a brief recap, but I have to warn you all that I'm biased. Lardy is an old pal Lardy was one of the founding members of the LMB, and can even be said to have gotten the whole thing started by starting a thread called "Who Are You?" on the old DCMB's, which was the first real attempt to get rid of internet ambiguity and meet people as friends. That's how a lot of us go to know each other, which led to the creation of the LMB. He was around for the majority of our five year existence, and was close with a whole lot of us. He was also notorious for making people laugh, being over the top, very obscene and lewd (in a funny way), and having the most raunchy bits of the tag threads. Still, he was a great guy who knew when enough was enough, and he was always a kind friend and a someone who made you feel better. He's also very intelligent and has a variety of interests (lots of different comics to the Beatles, to other stuff). You hear his name a lot because he's probably the most celebrated of all LMBers besides Lash. We really wish he'd make it over here, but he's got lots of little rugrats running around these days. Hopefully you'll have the chance to meet him sometime, Semi!

I thought he was back under a new ID last week, but I guess it was just someone else using his avatar.

Thanks Cobie. It's nice to have some back story to put with the names you old-timers throw around. (Notice the irony - me calling you an old-timer).

He reminds me of that Eryk Davis Ester.
A good thing, trust.

He's responsible for lots of LMB firsts: -He created the Onevision format -He coined the phrase 'Sweet Ass Sweet' -He created lots of the more risque characters in LMB lore. (I always enjoy the irony of being an 'old-timer' I also like to occasionally mention that I was posting on the DCMB's long before most of the people here, even my LMB contemporaries )

Yes, there was a whole section of LW devoted to your worship. It's been removed so you won't feel self-conscious.

Yup. If you check out lots of threads, you'll see references to you! Check the yahoo group for even more. If you had some way of seeing all of the threads/posts from the two years you were gone before LW, you'd see even more! (I went through the yahoo group once for the LMB Continuity project I'm doing, and saw numerous references to me while I was away, and how people were nostalgic for us, Lou. It genuinely made me smile and feel good )

The important question is now that you've "met" the real thing, how disappointed are you?!?

Damn, I feel as if I've been eulogized! I ain't dead, dammit!!! Anyway, it's real nice to feel all the love coming through in this thread. One thing C.K. didn't mention from my corrspondence with him was how guilty I feel about being absent. I prided myself on keeping a constant presence from the beginning. But sometimes life happens and some of the really fun stuff has to pay the price. One thing I can definitely be proud of is that the LMB is stronger than ever. It used to sometimes feel like the LMB was barely hanging on. Now, it's so strong that there are plenty of great posters to carry the torch. And it can't be overstated what an important role LW plays in that strength. Like I told Cobalt, I will try to stop by occasionally. Finding this thread (somehow I knew Cobalt would do one when I wrote him!) and the warm responses certainly encourages me to do so. You guys are definitely important to me, too! So you can certainly count on seeing me more, though on an irregular basis. Sweet Ass Sweet! Lardy P.S. Somebody better tell that sucka pretenda to get anutha effin' avatar! P.P.S. Do I get my X-Mas card now, Lou? (Email me yur addy and I'll send YOU one for once!)
Still "Lardy" to my friends!
