CK speaketh the truth!

The sad thing is, on some other, much, much luckier Earth, DC has spent the last 7 or 8 years flourishing under the editorship of Mark Waid, who was apparently Dan Didio's chief rival for the top job way back when.

Oh what might have been... cry

I'd rank All-Star Western up among the best comics being published today by anyone. I've also been really curious about Wonder Woman, but just haven't been quite willing to take the plunge. But, yeah, even the other stuff I'm enjoying, like Earth-2, are at best good, but not great.

Agree on All-Star Western. Must read for everyone.

Eryk, I think you might like Wonder Woman. It's definitely going to be different than you expect (even if you're already expecting something very different, if that makes sense).

I see Batman Inc #8 has its own thread. Though I've avoided spoilers, I have a pretty obvious guess for what happens. I'll reserve judgement until I read it.

You know, as I thought about this topic some more, I realized there was a certain amount of "well, this goes without saying..." that I actually should have just said. So:

Jay, I just want to say I totally respect your opinion on DC and all the other comics new and old! Gym'lls is my favorite forum on LW, and IMO it thrives when there are a variety of diverse opinions that don't all line up nicely. So you actually liking what DC is doing provides a nice counterpoint to my highly skewed feelings.

I would feel terrible if I ever thought someone hesitated for a moment to post about how much they liked something on Legion World because I clearly hated it. So in that sense (and I don't think / hope it didn't happen), please continue to post positively about everything you're enjoying!

That all, to come full circle, kind of goes without saying, but occassionally after I take a hard stand as something as critically important as comic books, I start wondering if perhaps I should actually say those things. I guess I'm just getting old that way.

I'll add that some of Legion World's brightest moments come when we have knock down drag out disagreements over the comics we love and love to hate. We're at our best when our passions come through.

Here's an interesting article from Time magazine that high-lights another reason I quit DC. Although, to be fair, it's a problem that isn't confined to DC alone.

(There's also some significant Legion mentioning in the article too.)

World's Finest #10 seems to be picking up speed on the Michael Holt mystery ... and hopefully the whole meaning of the series ... I likened World's Finest to running on a treadmill rather than running outside ...

also this issue suffers from some Damien Wayne tie in grief .. for sales? Anyway, I think Huntress takes it really a bit to hard ... since she is weaping over somone she worked with once. I think she is projecting a bit. She's got some other issues going on.

on the good side ... all Kevin Maguire all the time.

SupermanX SupermanX

World's Finest #10, Looks great, going nowhere slowly.
