Perhaps we should analyze why.

I hadn't been in there since just after I joined. Thanks for that Rocky. After a Pyngwyn Page, the leadership elections page came up. According to that Rocky is current leader. Perhaps that's why he's thread killer. Is it the LW leaders sworn duty to protect the other residents from Threads That Seep Between The Stars?

We do need to update that. Power Boy has been the LMB Leader for quite a while now. We used to have elections every year, but we just sort of don't.

It would be nice to see those sort of things back. They are lovely traditions to have.

Also, this means that someone has to get Power Boy to post here to kill the thread, as is his right as leader I suggest waiting a day or two to see if he turns up. This post should work fine as a flag, so no need to post while we wait for him.

Peebz hasn't posted here since August. I've seen him on Facebook, so I know he's okay. We need him back so we can have another election.

Hopefully, there's an appetite for a new election. Hmmm. appetite, that tells me it's dinner time...

Since it might be a while before Power Boy returns, someone else will just have to assume that mantle of thread killer on a one off basis. Since I know you guys must be really, really busy, you can divert your time to other threads and not worry about thread killing any longer.

As a Spaceopoly moderator, I volunteer to take on that duty. Thanks, thoth, but I wouldn't want to hassle you. After all, this heinous thread is in the forum where I have guard duty!

I'm also a mod in this forum, Ibby. I'd be a terrible friend if I didn't offer to share your burden.

A cartoon that I like had an episode called "The Burden Hardest to Bear". The first time I saw it, I thought the title was "The Day of the Baby Bear".

But Rocky, you're so busy with Pyngwyn matters, I don't want to add to your numerous tasks!

I never liked Yogi Bear when I was young. Always found him annoying.

I think the funniest thing about Yogi Bear was his tendency for making motormouthed malapropisms (say those last three words ten times fast.)

I love Yogi! I also do a great Yogi impersonation! "Hey, Boo-Boo boy, let's go get some pic-a-nic baskets from the tourists!"

The thing I find most amazing about those early Hanna-Barbera cartoons is that almost all the voices were done by only two voice actors: Daws Butler and Don Messick.

And to be fair, they sounded quite different. Some of their mannerisms were hilarious. I really liked El Kabong.

Baseball star Yogi Berra sued Hanna-Barbera for defamation in their use of "Yogi Bear". After Berra withdrew his suit, sources reported that he was indeed the inspiration for the name.

Maybe he would have been flattered if Yogi hadn't been such a glutton for pikenik baskets.

He sued for defamation? What a sour puss!

Snagglepuss isn't a sour puss at all! He's my puss of choice.

One of my favorite old-time comedy phrases is "pickle puss".

I love pickles (not Cobie's dog, but the food. Well, I love Pickles too, but...).

You can control Genie Meanie if you say the magic words: "Pumpernickel Pickle".

I never understood the Scarlet Pimpernel. I always thought it was about a red pickle who flew.

Daffy Duck once wrote a screenplay called The Scarlet Pumpernickel. He had himself in mind for the lead role, natch.

But of course, Daffy will do anything to steal the spotlight.

As Daffy would say, "YOU'RE AB-THO-LUTELY CORRECT!"
