I can't believe we voted out Sargent Rock. Those war comics are in museums due to their accurate depictions. Well, at least I know who is getting my Wildcard vote. Come to think of it, I am basically trying to vote for anti-heroes and consummate soldiers.

I still haven't figured out my Wildcard vote

For me it's not so much Sgt Rock as a character as the very few issues I read of that version of the book.

They were the easiest source of fodder. Supergirl was removed by Crisis, so her villains were up for grabs, while Ostrander was also the writer for Firestorm, so he had control of that toybox.

Rock was shoehorned in as a retcon member of the WWII Squad, and then when he lead the Squad as a general in the Giffen version, it turned out it likely wasn't even him. So his connection to the group is a little tenuous. If we were doing a WWII Idol, he'd win hands down, he just doesn't go well with the Squad.

The books pinched back. "Oi!" the Writer exclaimed.
"Stop touching my stuff," intoned the deep, twisted tones of Alan Moore.
The Writer leapt back, flabbergasted. "I'm an original," he sputtered.
The moon overhead waned. Shadows seemed to grow deeper. A raven cawed in the distance.

"None of us are. We are made of myth and story and sometimes drugs. Stop believing the hype."

The Writer became visibly scared, looking through his laptop case and phone for possible weapons. But he came upon ... Continuity Block. There would be no exit to another multiverse. He would not be envisioned again in a new 52.

There was a knocking at the door...

I thought Adam Cray had potential. With the move to spy territory, Briscoe and Sheba were no longer really needed, but you can't get more kick butt support than they provided. Shade was an odd one, out of place even among the misfits.

Interesting round, to see them in ranking order. Amanda Waller seems to be very popular. I split mine into rough sections of importance, but I had quite a few in the top one. Which means, I'm not going to be disappointed who wins it (probably)

This round has been INTENSE. I think the rating system took WAY too much work than I expected. OOOPS. Chalk that up to the learning curve

After a brutal fight - where some people clearly hate the characters (or aren't inspired by them) and others put them in their top 4 consistently, Amanda Waller and Bronze Tiger tie at the #1 slot. Congratulations!

It's interesting that the film version have all been eliminated. I thought Harley at least would stay in the game longer.

Also, it's clear that some people read the original Ostrander run and see the Squad different than the other runs.

Some characters - like Oracle, Vixen and Katana - clearly have developed a larger imprint outside of the Squad.

As much as I like Katana and (to a much lesser extent) Oracle (I prefer Barbara as Batgirl), I find it hard to give them points in this game because I much more closely associate them with the Outsiders and Batman families respectively. Vixen on the other hand, I associate much more strongly with the Squad because I feel that's where she came into her own as more rounded and developed character.

That was a brutal round for many of my faves but I knew many of them never stood a chance of winning anyway so it was nice to see them last as long as they did.

As much as Katana is a better fit in the Suicide Squad, we didn;t get to see too much of her in the Ostrander run. I thought that Vixen had some good stories in the Justice League. More so than her time in the Squad. Kudos to Ostrander (and Yale?) for being able to rescue Barbara Gordon from her Killing Joke fate.
