How do you pronounce "AEIIIIIIEUGH!"?

"...not having to believe in a thing to be interested in it and not having to explain a thing to appreciate the wonder of it."

"Quagga" is the local name for any kind of zebra, based on the braying sound they make.

It is also the common name of an extinct subspecies of the Plain Zebra which was distinctive as usually only having stripes on its front. The last known animal died in an Amsterdam Zoo in 1883. There is only one photo of a living animal. Recent genealogical studies have shown that it is not a separate species as was once thought but a sub-species of the Plains Zebra. Because the Quagga was scientifically named first it takes precedence so the scientific name of the Plains Zebra has been changed from Equus birchelli to Equus quagga, which is perhaps appropriate considering the origin of the name from a local language.

A Monster Boy vs Quagga, The Zebra From Prehistory, is surely a .... matter of time.

I've never eaten Turducken (a chicken inside a duck inside a turkey,) but if it were offered to me, I wouldn't say no.

Which would be the fiercest: A Quanga or a Turnaga?

Qango was spinoff/alt-version of the band Asia.

Their one original song, The Last One Home, is pretty good.

Qango joined with Quango for a new album, but found themselves in influential government positions instead. Rumours of Qango Quanga races in Whitehall are unsubstantiated.

However, rumors of Qango Quanga races in Ouagadougou are well-substantiated.

I've heard that there's a game based around things tourists ask about the races.

The Ouagadougou Qango Quanga Query Quiz.

A work-in-progress version of the song "The Mighty Quinn" was called "Tiny Montgomery."

James Montgomery Doohan, the actor who played Montgomery Scott or "Scotty" in Star Trek, only had three fingers on his right hand having lost one during the D-Day landings in WWII.

Harold Lloyd was lighting a cigarette from the fuse of a bomb he had lit, thinking it was a prop. He lost a finger and a thumb when it went off.

One of my favorite scenes in the TV show "Lost" is when an annoying character lectures everyone else on how to properly handle dynamite, only to blow himself up with...you guessed it, a stick of dynamite.

Ah, Doc Arzt. R.I.P.

BTW, I didn't realize you had any affection for Lost. Knowing you, it's probably pretty limited. smile Maybe you're one of those who only like the first season or two?

LOL You know me very well, my friend! lol

I did like the first season. The second season had a few things I really liked and a lot of things I absolutely loathed. I forget whether the third or fourth season was the extremely short one where nothing much happened, but for me, that was the last straw.

Jon Pertwee, of Doctor Who and The Navy Lark fame, also starred as Worzal Gummidge, a scarecrow filled with straw.
