Does your birthday have to be entered on your profile? (I've been reluctant to do that, but it's posted in Encyclopedia Galactica, so that reluctance probably doesn't make much sense.)
And does entering your birthday on your profile create an entry on the Calendar, or are those independent?

Grey, if you enter your birthday into your profile it will automatically create on entry on the calendar.
If you already have your birthday in your profile (I know you don't but for the sake of the others who may) and haven't made any changes to the profile since Gary introduced the calendar, any updates to your profile will add your birthday to the calendar.

The cake is only there for the birthday of the poster. Once midnight passes the cake passes on to the next birthday.

The cake doesn't show up just on posts that you make on your birthday -- it shows up on all posts you've made so far, but only for the duration of your birthday.
In that case, happy belated birthday, Juan!
