So... which character/plotline was more annoying?
Lori may get a slight edge simply because she was used far more, but it's also hard to separate Cub's plotline from how obnoxious his parents got to be during that period. I suspect had the Cub plotline been allowed to play out, it would probably have overtaken Lori in the end.

Cub. I've only read a couple of issues of Lori. But Cub was a cliche storyline (a dysfunctional one at that) of a superhero baby aging super quick. Also the idea of teenagers having kids I'm sure warmed Levitz's heart!

Lori was *very* annoying for a lot of her history, but there were also short moments (mainly in her first and last appearances) where I thought she was bearable.
The Cub story, on the other hand, was just the same monotone level of annoyingness throughout and as you mention EDE, it wasn't that long.
Hmmm... I think I'd have to give the award to Lori. The Cub story may (though I highly doubt it) have had a worthwhile conclusion, whereas the only good ending to the Lori story would have been locking her in an empty room with The Fatal Five.

Cub's condition might have led to his obnoxious parents' divorce. Now, THAT would have been a positive contribution.
As useless as he was, I never wanted Cub to come to harm, but I often wished someone would just strangle Lori and put her out of her misery. The idea she might someday become Glorith was an insult to Glorith ... and I don't even like Glorith.

It's a tough call. As they stood, I'd say Lori was the more annoying - it went on longer, she had a speaking part and a personality. A grating personality.
Cub was, for the most part, an issue/a dilemma for his parents. He was there, but just some presence that posed a problem - or an object that became a point of dispute or reconciliation for his parents. I'd agree that the Cub plot is tightly bound to his parents' stories, so there's a measure of annoyance with their soap opera. Over the long term, it might have played out better or worse than the Lori chapter, depending on how it was written.
