Thanks for the info He Who. IB has been all out in supporting me to make it to the Hot 100 list. It's my fault for being too lazy sometimes.
Going on the record as stating it's Blaze who set his own deadline for making the Hot 100 I'm just the tough-love coach who's making sure he sticks to his own goals

Bad. Now I'm gonna start reading all your messages and hiring a private investigator to follow you around when we're not together!

Here's what my hobby has been for the last couple of weeks: figuring out how many chart appearances each poster in the Hot 100 has made and the highest position of each.
I've been thinking of changing the format of the chart to reflect this info. As such, the July survey would look as it does below. The first number, natch, is the current chart position. If a number in parenthesis follows, it represents last month's position, if different from this month's. The next number (after the first vertical line) represents the total number of chart appearances (57 being the total number of charts so far, going all the way back to August 2003). The last number (after the second vertical line) represents the highest position.
Some qualifications: I've been keeping track of the Top 40 since September 2009 and the rest of the Hot 100 since December 2010 (though I monitored the positions of certain posters before this). Previous charts were maintained sporadically by different posters. As a result, this chart reflects the most complete information I have.

I think thats a lot of work and a job well done. I would say though that for it to work, you would need to either repost the explanation or sticky it somehow for those of us old timers with swiss cheese memory, lol.
It's also a job that's appreciated, if I haven't said so before.

You had an annual list last year counting only current activity, if only there were a monthly version...
Actually, my current activity might not even get me on that.
And Blaze would just burn me off the board there anyway.

But, HWW, what about the Designated Hitter Rule? Are we still subject to that?
Looks like I'll be able to get my Mac back from the shop this Saturday. (This relic of a PC I'm stuck with is the main reason I've been so scarce lately.)
If the weather's bad enough the next day, I may have to throw a corrective post-a-thon or something, but only if others feel like attending...

Thanks, Rick. It's a labor of love.
I think all I'll need to do is post a some kind of legend such as "Current Position|Chart Appearances|Highest Position" at the top of each list. People will catch on rather quickly.
One thing that bothers me, though, is that there apparently is no way to align each posters name, as if there were tabs, so it looks uniform. Anybody have any ideas on how to do this? I tried separating the numbers and the names with underscores and hyphens and it looks bad.

That's probably a question for Nighty. I have no idea on the board as to how to do that.

I kept a monthly list of current activity from last August to February. Frankly, there just aren't that many posters who are posting enough to make it worthwhile. Typically only 15-20 posters exceed 100 posts in a given month, and after No. 30, posting falls off sharply. That's why the chart had only 30 positions. (You can see these "Top 30" posts in some of the previous pages of this thread and the 2011 thread.)
But don't lose heart, Shining Son. At present, you have only about 530 posts to go to reach this list! And it doesn't matter what Blaze or anyone else does--there are plenty of "zero" posters who are just taking up space. We need fresh blood!

Don't know about the Designated Hitter Rule ( ), but I'm glad you're back "in the game," cle.
