Shikari - Unfortunately, because of some sprocking ties, a whopping 35 of you losers are going to be booted out of this party! See ya, wouldn't want to be ya! Brainy - (sigh) Kari, MUST you insult the rejects? Kari - But I understood it was Legion practice to insult the unworthy? Brainy - Wherever did you get that idea? Kari - I understood it was common practice in the "pre-boot"? Specifically, the Adventure era? Brainy - What??? I have absolutely no idea what you are referring to. In any case, we Legionnaires are above that, so I think it would be best to apologize. Kari - Sorry, I'm afraid I misunderstood your customs. Brainy - No matter, no permanent harm done. First, with two votes each, AMP GIRL AND BABBAGE were sent back to continue their cadet training, and ANDROMEDA (POST-ANOMALY) has to continue her work on Durla, even though I have strenuously objected to that. SENSOR (SNAKE BODY) is not going to return any time soon, TWINE was arrested upon trying to break her teammates out of jail and KID QUANTUM (JAMES) is still dead, and I have no idea how the rumor about his resurrection got started. Kari - Also, Cosmic Boy told SUPERBOY (KON) to "get the sprock out of here" when he requested to join the team, and ANTENNAE BOY, ANTI-LAD, CELEBRAND, CELESTE ROCKFISH, CERA KESH, FORTRESS LAD, JUNGLE KING, LUPINE, RUSH, SUGYN, TUSKER, XERA OF MANNA-5, BUCK BOND, SCIENCE RANGER, SHALLEE AND KLEN ROKKART were thrown out on their sprocking butts. Brainy - (sigh) Kari, you are absolutely incorrigible. Kari - Why, thank you, Brainiac. You are incorrigible too. Brainy - (Why do I even bother...) And an amazing 50 of you tied with 1 vote each, but due to voting in previous rounds, only 13 were eliminated. SHVAUGHN ERIN and GIGI CUSIMANO were promoted as cheif and assistant chief of the Science Police division on Legion World, respectively, while SUPERBOY (KAL) and JIMMY OLSEN were sent back in time after their brief stay. Kari - GOLDEN BOY, ATMOS, COMMAND KID, LIGHTNING LORD, MANDALLA, MONICA SADE, SPACEOPOLY LAD, STILETTA and STYX were also rejected. I trust that was proper, Brainiac? Brainy - Thank goodness, yes, it was, Kari. But i shudder to think what will happen when it is Wildfire's and Timber Wolf's turn to give the announcements...

Chameleon - Welcome to Round 5 of our tryouts! Once again, due to ties, another 35 of you were eliminated. Sorry, but as a consolation prize you do get to spend the rest of the week here at Legion World. Chuck Taine - Gosh, I can't believe I'm actually reading the round announcements! This is so cool! Cham - Well, even though you don't have any powers, we consider you one of us, Chuck. And hopefully, after the tryouts are over you WILL become one of us, if the *writers* decide to give you some powers. Chuck - Thanks a lot, Cham! That would be- well, it would be a dream come true! Cham - We'd like that a lot too, Chuck. But let's not keep the others waiting, 'kay? First, with 5 votes each, BRAINSTORM, MAGNO BOY, TOMB and VINCEL were tossed through the threshold into who-knows-where. Chuck - Next up, with 4 votes, ABYSS was thrown into one of his "voids". Cham - And with 3 votes, BLOOD CLAW was picked up by his Khundian superiors, KONO escaped again en route to Takron-Galtos, the MESS was tossed through a threshold into the aquatic world of Gil'd, and he almost polluted their newly refilled oceans permanently. Also, DARTALON/DARTALG left to rejoin his teammates, the Wanderers. Seems they had had an argument, which led him to try out for the Legion, but it seems like they patched things up again. Chuck - SUPERGIRL (MATRIX) had to return to the 21st century, and thankfully before she caused more riots. DENSITY, CHERRY BOMB and MICRO were also rejected, and were last seen talking about forming a "Legion" of their own. And finally, ECHO-CHAMBER CHET,ENERGAX, X-BOMB BETTY and FLYNT BROJJ were used as cannon fodder for the Credo, so they're effectively rejected too. Cham - And quite a few of you tied with two votes each, but voting in previous rounds determined that: CHAMELEON KID, DYNAMO BOY, ECHO, ELVO/ELVAR, POLECAT, REPULSE, RETRO, SILVER SWORD, WESTERNER and HATE-FACE would be eliminated. Also, CHARMA was thwarted after she tried to set the male Legionnaires against the females, and SUPER-PHRENOLOGY LAD/PHRENOLOGAX returned to his teammates on Xanthu, because they are the only ones who can understand his powers. Chuck - And it was a bad day to be a Khund, because FIREFIST and FLEDERWEB were forcibly brought back to Khundia. TYROC had to leave suddenly because of some trouble on "Marzal". PROTY had to be rejected because Lori Morning wouldn't give him up, and pouted that a "little ball of claydo" got farther than she did at the tryouts. INFERNO (SANDY ANDERSON) is still stuck in the 21st century, and we would really like to stop those persistent rumors that MONSTRESS has been resurrected.

Apparition - Welcome, all, to Round 6 of our Legion tryouts! Gates - Unfortunately, due to the decision to follow the militaristic philosophy of "survival of the fittest", another 15 of you had to be eliminated this round. Apparition - You sure have changed a lot, Gates. I guess you don't hate being a Legionnaire anymore, since it's been a while since I've last heard you utter the words "teenage death squad". Gates - Opinions change due to experiences and events, Apparition. Only a fool could possibly think that we are a bunch of thugs after all that we've done. Apparition - Yeah, but there are a lot of lunatics out there, Gates... (suddenly, Singularity shows up and starts thrashing the place, screaming something about "Progeny-protecting scum"... )But at least my mother and most of the other UP officials have come to accept us. Gates - Yes, but regardless of their opinions we must keep on our path, as long as we still believe in it and as long as we can do some good in the galaxy. Apparition - Good point, Gates. I'd love to continue our chat, but we really should get around to reading those round announcements. Gates - You're right, Apparition. Well, first up with 3 votes each, AVIAX/ORNITHO got his wings clipped, ESPER LASS and PHANTOM LAD were forcibly removed after they challenged Saturn Girl's and Apparition's Legion membership. Luckily for them though, since my teammates nearly throttled them both. And in a final abhorrent display of violence, some of my female teammates chased VEILMIST away after she tried to look for a husband. Apparition - Oh, it's not like we actually hurt them, Gates. Besides, Veilmist was way out of line flirting like that! Anyway, VISI-LAD was also rejected since he kept using his X-ray vision to try and peek inside our locker rooms, SIZE LAD and ION are still engaged in their subatomic duel, RADIATION ROY was hired as Legion World's backup energy source and PSYCHE absorbed all the other rejects disappointment and sadness and cried herself to sleep. Gates - Again, quite a few of you tied with two votes each, but due to previous round totals, only 6 were actually eliminated this round. This previous round totals system is quite commendable, since it prevents the elimination of extremely large amounts of candidates at a time. EYEFUL ETHEL was removed after she abused her multiple eyes by trying to peek into the male locker rooms, LADY MEMORY came down with amnesia and ENERGY BOY nearly overloaded himself with anxiety and nervousness. Apparition - PARTICON had to be hospitalized because she had difficulty moving in her clunky armor and she fell through a threshold into Braal, ANIMAL LAD was arrested after he sparked a riot in Metropolis Zoo and THUNDER wanted to spend more time with her family. She did invite us all to dinner, though, so that's a start at least.
