Author Topic: Mommy, buy me some comic art Spellbinder Founder posted                        Okay, so they are selling off original artwork from JLAvengers #1 over at the Artist's Choice website. Now, I love George Perez... really. However one two-page spread is already up to $5000. Now, maybe I'm just cheap, but doesn't that seem just the tiniest bit excessive? I can only agree that it's too much money for me, also. They're putting a premium on the significance of the book as well as the artist responsible. Otherwise, all of Perez's recent CrossGen work would be listed in that range, also. SOME sap with too much money and too little brain (McFarlane and baseballs, anybody?? LEGION pages a while back, that i wanted to get, but i thought they were quite a lot !!! plus the fact the site doesn't accept PAYPAL payments, and i would have to have a cheque made up into US funds, which costs around $10 before i actually pay for the piece and then add on the shipping !!! they were jsut too costly ..... I had no idea comic art would be in that price range - especially recent art. And I found some of the $300 sales on eBay expensive. Way out of my price range, I couldn't pay that much for a Rembrandt (though for a $5000 Rembrandt, I'd probably try to borrow the money). -------------------- Holy Cats of Egypt!
