And then there will only be Kanga-mange screaming "cancel it!" is his whiny bitchy little voice... [Roll Eyes] [Wink]

And I agree.

Cancel the DC Boards, already! [Wink] [Big Grin]

They've adjusted the policy again.

Now your posts only get the moderator treatment if you have a post count of less than 500.

An improvement, perhaps, but I wish they would think this stuff through a little more.

It's still stupid.

If poster A, with under the 500 posts, responds to poster B, and poster C, who isn't subject to moderation, responds after, but before poster A's post is cleared and showing...? [Confused] [No] :Oy!:

Like I said, they need to think these things through a little more.

Or not. That kind of chaos could only liven up the place.

Maybe they really miss the days when everyone's posts were all out of order?

Hey I put a post on the Wonder Woman board at the dcmb about what I considered the offensively sexualised portrayal of WW in Supergirl #5. (the costume is tiny and has a really plunging neckline.) I made a serious point that this was missing the point of the character and that she is meant to be inspiring to young girls not a masturbatory fantasy. And I think it has been deleted!

What is with this censorship? I wasn't alluding to breasts and masturbation for prurient reasons. I was making a serious and well argued point about a portrayal of a character I disagreed with.

Such hypocrisy. They present WW as a baloon breasted porn star in the comics and you are not allowed to talk about it on the message board? It's okay to show children soft porn artwork but heaven forbid they read a post that talks about sexuality in a frank mature way?

I doubt I'll be posting there again.

Atrocious.

Man! I almost we had the staff and bandwidth to make a home for ALL those Legion fans who want someplace to call their Legion-home on the net. DC sure dropped the ball here...or is it WB that's screwing everything up?...or even AOL?

I notice Lightning Lad and Nightcrawler don't advertise the site...and that's ok with me...word of mouth seems to bring in the more dedicated, talented and friendly fans than a bazillion google hits would.

[Big Grin]
Betcha if anyone at the DC Offices wants to see what the fans are saying about the Legion then Mark, Barry and Steve tell 'em to check out LW.

Sorry for using this thread to moan guys! Just a little bit more! Really urinated off at the hipocrisy of the dcmb.

Cut and pasted from my livejournal-I can't reword it better so I put it here too. Forgive the swearing. angry...

Shitty DCMB. Still p....ed off about it.

Wish I had copied those posts I made to here, as they are now gone. I was particularly proud of the deleted one too. I forgot how puritanical that fu..ing mb is. They censor medical terms for the genitals as if they were swear words for God's sake! I do not understand that puritanism and I will not if I live to be a hundred. Personally I don't think that discussing sexuality, a normal and natural part of human experience, is in any way obscene or that children have to be protected from it. I don't understand why talking about it in a matter of fact non sensational way is regarded as being eeeeeeevil. Grow the f... up already.

And I am used to more adult (adult as in age group not porn. I rather dislike that the word adult has become a synonym for porn. Sigh)message boards where talking about sexual matters in context is fine. I forgot that the dcmb is a corporate self proclaimed 'family friendly' site. Never mind that no children are actually reading the damn thing. It's all people above the age of 25 as far as I can tell.

I was censored and slapped on the wrist to protect non existent children who even if they were actually there would have heard it all in the playground anyway and swear like sailors 24/7.

Not to mention the hypocrisy. Overly sexualised plunging necklines and baloon breasts in the comics? Fine. Graphic violence, decapitated characters lying in pools of blood? Fine. Talking about and being open about sexuality, a natural normal part of human nature and not obscene in any way in context? EEEEEEVIL.

Give me a break.

F... em. Not literally.

We could handle the Legion-related traffic just fine.

I have pushed the site there from time to time, but after awhile it feels like I'm a used car salesman or something (not that there's anything wrong with that [Big Grin] ). If you guys want to promote the site there, please feel free to do so.

I've usually posted a link to a interesting discussion here rather than a simple link and let people decide for themselves to drop into the fun.

Unfortunately, Drura, the US's society seem to echo DC's policy. [Frown]

Just stick around here and have fun. Go ahead and post about Wonder Woman's depiction in Supergirl in the Dr. Gym'll forum if you haven't already.
