Last year in the Keith Giffen panel at SDCC, Giffen made a very big deal over his disdain for comic book creators who couldn't make deadlines.
With the final issue of the Ambush Bug: Year None miniseries now three months late, and actually not appearing on any future solicitations, I can't help but wonder whether Keith is staging some sort of Andy Kauffman-esque "performance art" joke.
Considering that this miniseries was overall focused on parodying the comic industry, I wonder, is the delay on issue 6 really Giffen's statement on continual comic delays, themselves.
Perhaps I'm giving him too much credit but, if that's the case, I actually think it's the funniest joke of the whole miniseries.

If it was late on purpose like that it would actually be hysterical!

From 20 Questions with Dan Didio last month on Newsarama:
"16. When will we see the last issue of the Ambush Bug series?
DD: It is being completed as we speak – the last issue is on my desk. It’s one book that I can say quite honestly that hit the editor’s desk and got stuck there. We’re just making a couple of revisions to the story, and I felt the likenesses were a little too complimentary, so I had to make them a little worse."

They should just release the final issue as #7 to make the internet go ape-shit for one day. It'd be worth it.

Killing them never works, you know. They always come back, only stupider and with even worse hair.
