"You must go to Quarantine World! This Space-Bubble will take you there automatically! Let's hope we can find a cure before you die!"

Jeepers! I wonder why Superboy didn't become a doctor with that impeccable bedside manner.

Were Space-Bubbles approved for medical transport only?

Posted by rickshaw1 on :

Only when used with Space-Bubble Wrap. The problem with it is that the super monster...of space... like to pop the wrap as it passes.

This was during Supes' bi-curious stage (which eventually led to his briefly joining the Super-Companions).

The notion of an all-boy Legion had him intrigued. He certainly could have been less blunt about it, though.

I'd sure quarantine those girls if I knew their illness was related to . . . SATAN GIRL!!!

Back in the early LMB days, whenever Shady got sick, we'd have the same exact adventure!

I dont get the joke about the Super-Companions. What's the story behind it?

Who are the Super-Companions?

Gay super-heroes???? are u kidding me?

Posted by Invisible Brainiac on :

Why not? Element Lad, Invisible Kid, Lightning Lass and Shrinking Violet have all been rumored to be gay at one point, and there are a number of confirmed gay heroes already.

Wouldn't it have been funny if, after Satan Girl had been defeated, Supes would keep visiting the girls and slipping a little something in their drinks to keep them quarantined while he satisfied his curiosity - not to mention himself?

You mean Northstar (X-Men)

I read all about it in some article in a gay magazine....funny how Aurora, his twin sister never turned lesbian, maybe she would have guessed what his secret really was?

The chick Legionnaires never have to be quarantined off-planet anymore.

Who can forget the legendary Legion story that never saw print in the 70's, where Howard Chaykin planned on doing a "women in prison" style Legion adventure with all the girls on a quarrantined world?

Apparently, Imra and Ayla's scenes caused the Comics Code censor to almost have a heart attack and it never saw print!

I thought it a bit much though to have Grimbor be disguised as the doctor.

The girls and guys WERE all separated into prisons for a time, in the Nardo story.

Everybody knows that girls have cooties. This means that the girl Legionnaires have super-cooties! [Eek!]

The fact that this has yet to see print almost restores my faith in a benevolent supreme deity.

Almost.

I can't tell if this one's a joke or not?

One can only imagine the effects if it had been. As the teenaged boy that I was, I'd have bought out the spinner rack and shared with all my friends. If I'd been an adult, I'd have bought out the spinner rack and denied, denied, denied.

I suspect one of the guys bribed Nardo to separate them.

Er, this is one of those stories that exists only in Dream's Realm in the Endless and in the dark, twisted corners of my head. But help me spread the rumors of its existene anyway! [Big Grin]

Serves you right. Female fans have suffered enough in the last century as it is.

[Roll Eyes]

And no, I'm not forgiving you that twenty bucks you said you "needed for groceries." Fool me once, etc...

Superboy tried to come to terms with his "issues" by reading pretentious comic books about talking aardvarks. Bad idea.

Yeah. Say what you will about 5YG. To the best of my knowledge, it never spent 15-20 pages showing the same panel of the same character taking a drunken leak over and over again.

[shrug]

I bet Dave Sim treasures all those comics that featured Thora and Charma, though. And drew fan art of them joining forces to eat Validus' brain.

I remember a great rebuttal to Sim's evil female conspiracy theories, from one Anne Rubinstein:

"Right you are Dave, the evil goddess gives me orders every day at lunch. Keeps me so darn busy, I barely have time to get my nails done."

I'm still looking forward to his speaking tour with Lawrence Summers.
