By popular demand, there will be a male model pinup contest!

(Hold your applause!)

Please fill out the following form, to have a say in how this will go:

1. Which male models from the Legionverse would you like to see become a contestant? List your top five.

2. What situations would you like to see them in? Remember, this is a family show!

3. Should anyone or anything (person, animal, alien, machine, etc) be included as a guest (okay, a *prop*) in one or more of the challenges? List your top five.

3. Who would you like to be the lead judge?

4. Who else do you think should be a judge?

5. Who would make a good host/commentator?

6. Anything else?

Thank you!

Results will be considered when the male pinup model contest goes underway.

1. If Mekt isn't in it there's sure to be trouble.

Other than that, surprise me. No Legionnaires though, please.

2-3. How about a scene with Dreamy? Their choice for action, romance, brawl, humor, et cetera.

3-5. Please keep the same judges! Let host Dreamy have more fun! (See above.) Surprise guest judges are good too.

YAY! The girls version was a hoot! Looking forward to seeing what you've got in store for us this time Sketch Lad!

Here're some of my suggestions -

*1. I agree with TD - avoid having any Legion members as models. Save them for another competition.

My choices -

1. Beast Boy
2. Ron-Karr
3. Chlorophyll Kid
4. Calamity King
5. Don Allen

...and what's a Legion grouping without a list of substitutes?

1. Nemesis Kid
2. Shadow Lad
3. Hunter
4. Grimbor
5. Plaid Lad

*2. Hmmm. No grand ideas for this question.

*3. Hate-Face would make a great guest of some sort or another. Either as a fellow model or a judge.

Other great props -

1. A banyo fruit
2. That Rainbow Fountain or whatever it was that de-aged people in the Adventure era.
3. Proty II
4. A Time Bubble
5. The Cellular Trim Ray

*3. Any of the following.

*4. Judges -

1. That campy magician from the Great Darkness Saga is a must! Can't remember his name.
2. Who's that rich kid who wanted to buy his way into the Legion that's always getting mentioned on this board? He'd be a good snarky judge.
3. Maybe Chameleon Boy or Hate-Face as the third one.

*5 Well Keith Giffen said that Gim was the most handsome of all the male Legionnaires so he'd be a good substitute if you don't want to stick with Dreamy. Sun Boy might be another candidate.

bring on those top five male models:

Magno Lad, Grimbor, Shadow Lad, Mekt Ranzz, and lastly but not least - Quanto! Remember him? [Smile]

Posted by Seth Gaterra on :

The contestants:

Jan Arrah -- I know; this isn't his usual sort of activity. But the sensitive artist type does get a lot of attention. [Wink]

Val Armorr -- if the galaxy's best martial artist doesn't have perfect muscle definition, I'd be surprised!

Brin Londo -- if women could swoon over Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Brin was around before Logan. [Smile]

Grimbor -- a masterful older man. The leather and chains motif may work for or against him, depending on the judges.

Mekt Ranzz -- has that (literal and figurative) aura of power about him. Long hair can help in the poses; it worked for Fabio?

So, I'm not going to close the voting for a while, so we can see what happens, but if I were to go ahead on this as of now, the models would be:

Grimbor
Mekt
Magno Lad
Shadow Kid

...and my choice for fifth, either taken from the nominees or my own pick. I tend to agree that I don't want to use actual Legion members.

So, if you really want someone else in there, ya gotta VOTE!

Thanks TD!

Yikes! I've already started planning what to do with all the input received above. I *could* get started, but I'm waiting to hear from some more people....

Let me just say that there will be a LOT more going on in each pinup and in the judging pages!
Which means more fun.

Alright, polls are closed...ALMOST!!

Here are some people, places or things that will definitely be in the story:

Dreamy as host, with co-hosts
The Previous Judges, with guest hosts
Banyo Fruit
Planetary Chance Machine
Super Tots
Lester Spiffany
Hate Face
Jungle King
Swimsuits

Of course, with so much material, there will be lots of places for Easter Eggs, so if one of your ideas didn't appear above, it still may show up in the story. It may not, though, so don't be upset! I often honor sketch requests at Dean's Sketchpad, also here at Bits.

THE MAIN EVENT!!!!

The following male models of the Legionverse have made it to Hollywood:

Mekt Ranzz
Grimbor
Magno Lad
Shadow Kid

We need a tie breaker for fifth place, so please vote for either:

QUESTAR

OR

CHLOROPHYLL KID

Once the tie is broken, we can begin

THE SEARCH FOR THE LEGIONVERSE'S NEXT TOP MALE PINUP MODEL!!!!!

Okay, Chlorophyll Kid is in the Top Five!!!

I've actually already begun writing and illustrating the first challenge. I think you guys'll like it. It's been great fun to draw.

This interactive business makes things a lot more fun, keeps things poppin'!

Thanks and stay tuned!

Yep! I had practiced drawing the guys, and I had a pretty good close up shot of their faces, so I decided to go ahead an use them. Poor Questar, he looked so happy!

The voting doesn't start until after the first actual challenge, but I'm curious to know what people think based on those early face shots.

Trust me, there will be a LOT going on from now on....

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Now that I have seen Questar I am sorry he didn't make it. I would have preferred him to either Mekt or Magno Lad. (I just don't like long hair on men)

Posted by Sketch Lad on :

Interesting point, Quis. That kind of thing will definitely play into peoples' voting.

I have a feeling that the situations the models find themselves in will be pretty entertaining and may sway votes.

Posted by Seth Gaterra on :

Did think most of the sketches were good... except for Chlorophyll Kid. You may have been going for bishonen, but it slipped over to androgyny IMO. Questar at least had the "boy next door" look going for him?

Posted by Sketch Lad on :

Don't know what bishonen means, but I do have a habit of making Chlor "overly beautified." Especially when out of that headpiece he normally wore.

I'll be interested to hear your opinions as the competition gets underway.

Posted by Eryk Davis Ester on :

Hmm... I have to say that Questar was actually my favorite of the intial face shots!

Too bad...

Bishonen is literally "beautiful boy" in Japanese. Quoting from Wikipedia about the drawing style used for these characters: "The bishōnen is typically slender, with a tapered chin, stylish hair, and a facial structure likened to that of a woman, while retaining a male body."

Posted by Thriftshop Debutante on :

In color, Grev is going to stand out like nobody's business. Ral too.

Grimbor has the streaks and the distinction of being a more mature sentient. (And I hope his holos don't hide this.)

Mekt is Mekt.

I don't know yet what Kort's bringing to the table. But that's okay...as mentioned, I like surprises.

(Is Dreamy a little...off?)

Posted by Sketch Lad on :

Now that I'm not intentionally depicting the characters in order for there to be a loser, it's going to be very interesting to me to see how the pictures will be judged. Looks like there's already more support for Questar than I'd imagined. I, too, was happy with that sketch of him.

Seth Gaterra, thanks for teaching me a new word. I do basically make Chlor look that way on purpose. Which brings up the point that I am depicting these characters my way. I might stray from the way they've appeared in the books, but that's my thing, I guess.

TD, can't wait to finish off the first challenge art! LOTS going on, and it will definitely be in full color.

What seems off about Dreamy?

Posted by Thriftshop Debutante on :

She strikes me as a Nura knock-off, not the genuine article. (And she looks like she's doing a plie in the first picture.

Posted by Blacula on :

Cool. Its started! Can I vote for Gim and Dirk as the winners? They're smoking!

Magno and Mekt look a little interchangeable to me, and I echo whoever else said they didn't like long-haired guys. I predict an early exit for them.

Chlorophyll Kid looks nothing like I thought he would when I nominated him. I was hoping to see little fat Ral wave the flag for the "plus-size" fans but its your game Sketchy so I'll roll with it.... HEY! Maybe one of the challenges can involve Nardo and a Super-Fat-Ass ray? Then we can get a thin Ral and a fat Ral and we all win! [Wink]

Looking forward to the bitchy judges!

Posted by Eryk Davis Ester on :

Ooh! I like the idea of fatassing all of the contestants for a round!

Posted by Sketch Lad on :

No one nominated the Super Fat Ass Ray when I asked for suggestions for props!

Hmm...I pretty much plotted out the whole competition based on the group's suggestions already, but I did say I wanted this to be interactive.

Okay, tell ya what.....after this first round, we'll see who gets eliminated, then we'll decide who should do what with whom after that!

Hang in there, folks!

Hmmm...one of my very first bad reviews of a Nura picture.....

Well, I guess I could say that it could be the hair. I don't usually draw it that way. I prefer the long wavy look, so that might be an explanation. My intention is to show Dreamy and the judges in many different looks...
A. cuz it's fun
B so I don't get bored drawing the same look over and over

Some of them might be hits, some may be misses.

Perhaps after the competition, it would be neat to see each of the contestants in their 'native environment.'

Mekt could be farming.

Shadow Kid fighting off some Talokkian beastie with gold armor and crystal sword-like thing (since he's like, deputy 'Champion of Talokk VIII' when his sister's off-planet, like always...).

Chlorophyll Kid growing a tree (and the 'sporting wood' jokes begin...).

Magno dude diving for a Magno Ball in the exciting last moments of some championship game.

And I don't think I want to speculate on Grimbor in his native environment, since I'm suddenly thinking 'fetish dungeon.' Yikes.

Posted by MLLASH on :

Bah! I told you peeps that Questar was the way to go! Well, maybe I didn't tell you in so many words, but I *did* vote for him! I mean, if he's man enough to date Thora... (see Matter-Eater Lad: The Series # 20)!

I kinda wish I had voted for Quake Kid (S/LSH # 218)... that was one cute sentient-hugger.

Maybe for Dean's SUPER/MALE MODEL series 2... *hint hint*!

Meanwhile, the face shots have me all a-twitter. I myself don't mind long hair on guys as hot and manly as Mekt and Kort.

And I love that someone besides either myself or Eryk brought up super-fatassing. YAY, Blacula!

Posted by PolarBoy on :

this is all sweet an idea for next time maybe contestants get to visit the big legion wardrobe and model the costume (male or female) from legion history that they think suits best or this could be extended to modeling the outfit of there favourite 21st centry hero. Just an idea and long live the subs.

Okay folks, it's time to vote!

Please indicate the name of the male model who you wish to have REJECTED!!!

Reminder of pinups....

MEKT RANZZ giving the CELLULAR TRIM RAY to his innocent little sister, Lightning Lass

GRIMBOR standing before the MISSION MONITOR BOARD, loaded with the images of eliminated contestants

MAGNO LAD resisting being "chosen" by the PLANETARY CHANCE MACHINE

SHADOW KID in the TIME BUBBLE, nearly within the jaws of a SHARP TOOTHED BEAST

CHLOROPHYLL KID using his power on a BANYO FRUIT, to the delight of BEPPO THE SUPERMONKEY

Get your votes in. I'll be taking a break from creating for a bit, and I don't have a deadline for the voting. Any suggestions on how long to leave the polls open?

Any other discussion of the challenge is welcomed, of course!

Magno Lad

Posted by Blacula on :

OK. Time for me to start channeling some Tyra.

Mekt - Didn't really do it for me. He looked cute enough but he allowed the Cellular Trim Ray to dominate the pciture instead of him. Big No-No.

Grimbor - Great pic! Showed strength and personality and allowed us to see his powers at work on the lucky boys in the background.

Magno Lad - Seemed a little bit taken by surprise by that tiny planet but I kinda liked the naturalness (is that a word?) of it and there's no denying he looked good. Especially the side-burns!

Shadow Kid - A surprising disappointment. Like Mekt he let his prop and in this case his surroundings way overshadow him. I couldn't get any personality from the pic and couldn't even tell if he looked good or not. What a shame.

Chlorophyll Kid - Cute pic. Worked his props well and all involved looked like they were having a fun time. I think I preferred Ral with the blonde hair but the green looks pretty good too.

The Judges - The Empress's head-gear is faboo! She should win this comp just for that! And Nura looked great in that first pic with Stefannaci and Quislet!

The Winner - Has to be... Grimbor! He worked that picture!

The Loser - Tough call between Mekt and Shadow Kid but only because one has more potential than the other, the photo in my hand belongs to... Mekt!

Posted by Eryk Davis Ester on :

Chlor is my early favorite (hard to beat giant fruit and a monkey), but I liked Grimbor and Shadow Kid quite a bit as well.

Mekt looked a bit uncomfortable and unnatural in his pic. I would've recommended either using the cellular trim ray for something, or, if he's going to follow the gift motif, at least give it to someone who needs it. A bow on the ray would've been a nice touch as well.

Magno Lad seems to miss that part of the humor value in the PCM is that fact that it typically boinks the person in the head, and by turning his back on it, it's almost like he's scared of the thing or something. And it would've been better if he were re-directing the planet to another person in the pic.

Anyway, it's a tough choice but I'm voting for Mekt to depart.

Posted by Seth Gaterra on :

Shadow Kid as the reject. It could really have been anyone in that pic of him, since the surroundings draw attention away from him.

(Though Magno Lad could use some work; his body seemed to be shrinking away the lower it got from those hyper-muscled shoulders and arms. He is not Megaton Man! [Smile] )

Posted by Thriftshop Debutante on :

Magno Lad out

But Grimbor, you're on notice. Dude, I could have captured AFO Boy, Ron-Karr, and Calamity King.

Mekt, step it up a bit.

Grev, such a pic! The most dramatic.

Yay Ral! (Yay Beppo!) Representing for the nice guys!

(And...Sarya? That Empress is banyo-fruit!)

Posted by MLLASH on :

I'm voting GRIMBOR out.

He and Chlor had my least favorite photos, while Shadow Kid had my most favorite.

Dean, you should write an Emerald Empress series! [chuckle] She's hilarious!

*choke!*

I'm seriously overwhelmed by the response! Thank you ALL so much. I've spent maybe a little more time on this than I should, but it's been a lot of fun, and to have everyone participate this way makes it really REALLY worth it!!! I appreciate the compliments and your patience with my sometimes "off" depictions. Making this interactive was the best decision I've made in a LONG time. Seriously, I'm loving this!

Some responses....

Blacula- LOVE the TYRA bit!!!! Totally what I'm going for, here.

EDE- re: Mekt, a bow would have been perfect! The point was that Ayla *doesn't* need the CTR, but he's still giving it to her (and we see in the books that she actually uses the thing!)
re: Magno Lad, LOVE the bonking someone else idea! Could have used another rejected candidate, there.

Seth G- Grev *could* have had a more close-up shot of himself with the Time Bubble, but chose to go with putting the monster in the picture. It was risky, true! Seems some quite liked the idea.

TD- your comment about the Bound Boys made me LOL! Did you notice Grimor used paper clips on Ron-Karr? HAH!

Lash, Emmy (my new nickname for her!) has been a HOOT to write/draw!

Hey, couldn't the CTR be used to exfoliate?

Space-Apricot Scrub is good, but a CTR would be super-groovy! I'd be happy to get one. (And I bet Mekt has one too.)

Posted by Thriftshop Debutante on :

Oh, Dreamy sure looked cute in her red-belted old-school costume. With cape!

I mentioned Sarya before, of course, but I also love how the judges complement each other. Dig the Imra pose in Magno commentary. Aww, Marte's worried about Grev! And while I goof on Marla a lot, he's a good ol' chap, isn't he?

Posted by Sketch Lad on :

TD, thanks for bumping those threads at S&tLoSH board which have to do with our contestants. These characters are so well loved!

Does the CTR actually *trim* cells? Is it like the Lyposuction ...of Space?

Posted by Thriftshop Debutante on :

An interesting question!

If Brainy or Rond or Kent or Dr. Gym'll make an appearance perhaps there could be a Science Minute or something. Well, maybe a home-holo extra....

*edited to add: OR VI!

But come to think of it, maybe the CTR is based on the original Brainiac's Kandor-shrinking thingie. B5 is miffed that Lyle found a practical application for the stuff that became flight rings, ESPECIALLY since B5 himself found a practical and commercial application for the Shrinko. But he's too embarrassed to admit it. Though not too embarrassed to cash the checks.

We need a writer for a one page script, called:

"The Search for the Legionverse's Next Top (Male) Pinup Model's Science Minute"

We need in depth descriptions of how the props from the first challenge work and what they are capable of. We would like to include testimonies from Brainy, Rond, Kent and/or Dr. Gym'll. Make it informative and FUN!

Collaborations are welcomed.

I have to vote Magno Lad. The way he was hunched over, like he was afraid of getting hit by that little representation of a planet.

I did see the paper clips on Ron-Karr. And for an a-hem older guy, Grimbor does make that costume work.

Oh, I'm excited for the next challenge!

I'm wondering who will be disadvantaged by this. I'm finding it difficult to picture Grimbor looking right without the chains. I'm kind of expecting Shadow Kid to rock at this one, though!

Quis, thanks for the suggestion. I like what you're saying about factoring the weekends. I don't have a conventional schedule, so I don't always think of things like that. I'll keep it in mind as we carry on.

Seth Gaterra, glad you liked Brainy! I'm trying to use characters that were "nominated" in the very beginning.

Yay! PolarBoy commented on the Kara picture!

Great theme!

I think all the pics turned out well.

CHLOR: the only one to wear a looser shirt, and it worked for him. Like the Empress, I love the green hair. Sweet pic, with Ral proffering lovely vegetation. The girls (and boys) like a cute & nice sentient.

GRIMBOR: Grimmy, I'm concerned about you. While you look handsome (except perhaps a problematic shirt fit around the neck), there's something we don't see in the pic. We don't exactly see where you are; I only know it's your home due to the captioning. I think this goes deeper than a lighting issue. You used to be all about the WORK, Grimmy. Is that no longer "home" for you, have you lost the drive?* While perhaps you were too focused on your work/art in the past, to totally switch off is worrisome. SUPERMODEL PRODUCTION CREW, is there a counselor on standby?

GREV: Grev kinda knows he's hot stuff, doesn't he? Well, he's not wrong. He looks good in this lighting too.

MEKT: ooh baby. The wind in your hair! My vote for most eye-catching.

OUT: GRIMBOR Sorry, Grimmy; your pic was good, but the others were better. And may I add that it takes a strong sentient to ask for help, so think about it.

*I'm not entirely convinced last challenge's MMB pics weren't archival.

Another vote for Grimbor. He looks... well, old. And Lester is a hoot!

Posted by Seth Gaterra on :

Chlorophyll Kid as the reject. He looked sweet, but I think the others just showed more attitude... more power. (Ironic, considering Ral is the only one using his power in this round.)

I disagree about Grimbor just looking old. He held to the terms of the challenge, and could still keep elements of his style in it. As for the background, he took some tips for the commentary about Grev and chose something that would keep him as the focus.

Speaking of Grev, he likewise used that commentary to improve his standings. A good neutral background, to show him off. And this time, he could show off some of that warrior's strength, rather than having to fuss over the prop.

Imra, of course Mekt would choose Korbal over Winath! If it was a choice between being in a place where you were tormented for the way you were born, and a place where you finally had the power to overcome that... which would you honestly choose?

Posted by Eryk Davis Ester on :

All right, so this round is particularly hard, since each pic looks really nice just on its own. So the only thing really to go on in choice of background.

Once again, Chlor is brilliant. He's staying. And Shadow Kid looked nice as well, though I would've preferred a bit more color in the background.

I'm in agreement with the argument that Grimbor's background looks really generic, and there's nothing in it that really says "this is my home". Maybe he should've gone for some of his cages and other machinery in the background?

I'm also a bit disappointed that Mekt went with Korbal over Winath. How nice would the picture have been of him doing a little bit of farmwork in that t-shirt and jeans? Next time, Mekt, use a space-pitchfork!

Anyway, my vote's going to GRIMBOR.

The production staff at MODEL central has no comment on the temperment of each model, at this time, as we don't wish to sway the voting process in any way. When the contest is over, we will be happy to answer any questions in that regard.

My vote is for Mekt.

I think all the models look great. Chlorophyll Kid looks so sweet. And I do like the strength of Grimbor which shows through.

Both Mekt and Shadow Lad both look a bit too modelly.

Seth and EDE,
I think it's interesting that you two have nearly opposite opinions of each picture! And I love it!

Some behind-the-scenes decisions....

1. These pictures were going to be done against a plain white background, but that was ultimately too boring, so we went for the "home" idea. We still wanted fairly plain backgrounds, within those distinctive locales. It's up to the voters to decide what worked and what didn't.

2. The MODEL production crew chose to eliminate all props from the pictures. We had tons of Grimbor's manacles and chains, etc to sort through, and decided just to scrap the idea. We came upon a herd of Lightning Beasts on Korbal, but decided not to use them. Shadow Kid did not want any kind of prop at all, after the last challenge, and ultimately, we let Chlor use his flower, so he kinda got by the rule. That's how these things go sometimes!

3. We wanted loose, tossled hair even though one of the judges seemed to really have a problem with that.

4. We stand by the "types" we've chosen. Chlor, the young, shaggy haired one. Grimbor, the muscular, brooding type. Grev the exotic. Mekt, the moody, pale man.

5. This is SO much fun, and it'll stay that way til the end. This challenge was perhaps the "driest."

That's what's fun about doing this...remembering what these guys' personalities are like, as I depict them in these challenges. It would be really easy to just do the generic male model thing, but Mekt is *almost* crazy here, and Grev is a Talokian warrior, so I keep that in mind as I draw them. Grimbor and Chlor are practically exact opposites.

Yeah, Lester's definitely a hoot. And I've really enjoyed your Empress looks, especially when she'd get that crazed Cruella DeVille/Madame Medusa look in her eyes.

Anyway, on to the challenge. I sometimes forget just how hot a guy can look in nice T-shirt and jeans (though that doesn't mean I don't want to see a swimsuit competition). I haven't commented before, but I just suddenly felt compelled to after that last challenge. I don't know why.

I vote to dump Mekt. Chlorophyll Kid is a total sweetie, and I'd love for him to date my son or daughter (but he could use a haircut). Grimbor is rockin' in that T-shirt. I usually prefer a smile, but he totally works for me. And I'm not usually a bondage type, but the chain belt gives me the good shivers. Grev's all pretty boy, but he has enough attitude to make it work. And Mekt, well, the long flowy hair is a total turnoff for me. While the lightning is great for dramatic effect, he just doesn't do anything for me.

So Mekt definitely has to go.

Mekt Ranzz with the Lightning Tots
Chlorophyll Kid with the Substitute Tots

First off, CHLOR's pic was FANTASTIC! Again, he's taking care of four kids, and is enjoying doing so! I think he really rose to the challenge this time!

GREV seems a bit awkward taking care of Shadow Tot, and I think that's what kind of bugs me about his pic. I love the use of the BBBB, though.

I'm voting MEKT, though, for the simple reason that if I were a super-tot and had the chance to spend the day at the beach with one of the three, I think I'd just as soon stay home.

In other notes, *loved* the writing of Cos! I was really wishing Lester was still there just to tell him to shut up!

Posted by Seth Gaterra on :

Hate to do this to you, Mekt... really I do! [Frown] But your picture turned out as the worst, because it didn't look like any of you three wanted to be at that place...

Grev looked all right. Agreed that the Bouncing Boy beach ball was a cute touch.

Ral really does look like he'd make a good father... or at least a good child-minder, considering he's trying to deal with four kids singlehandedly. I see Dag's part of the sandcastle right now... but he'll be a little bolder soon enough?

I figure Ayla was doing the same deal, so she could cut past Mekt's sequence. Cause cheering on your own brother in a swimsuit competition is kind of creepy... [Shudder]

Posted by Thriftshop Debutante on :

Shadow Kindergartner is just ADORABLE! Deeeeeean, I think we need to see her again some time outside the Model contests.

GREV, PLEASE PUT A SWIMSUIT ON, CHILDREN ARE PRESENT! WINATHIANS WEAR MORE THAN THAT! Other than that, this is my top pic pick. How sweet is Mr. Studly Shadow Grev with terrified tiny Tasmia? Awww. And -- would you believe it? -- Cos is actually right about the color and composition.

RAL: Don't worry, I'm not overlooking the fact that you're pretty much always sweet. Props to everyone's favorite babysitter! Kid-tested, parent and hypothetical-parent approved! It looks like everyone's having a good and safe (but keep your eye on Fire Tot out there in the water) time. Bonus points if you helped li'l Lydda (super-cute swimsuit!) with her hair.

HOWEVER: Young man, you don't seem to have the same body as in the last challenge. Are you on the drugs? Son, there's a reason it's called dope. What? All-natural herbal supplements, and you'd know? Yes, I suppose you would. But sweetie, sentients like you just the way you are. Serious.

MEKT: Oh, I don't mind that you look space-torqued. You're not playing some character, you're yourself and that's you all right. I'd probably be space-torqued too if those two were running around pinching each other and screaming Mommmmmmmmmmmm he/she started it!, and pestering the poor ol' Devil Fish. But for the life of me I can't figure out the fit on them cut-off overalls of yours. And something about the overall (not overalls) color doesn't flatter you as much as the others.

So...believe it or not, I'm voting MEKT OUT.
This does not mean that you're not my sentient, Mekt. Let's space-lunch, and soon.

Note: there's something about the expressions of Mekt, li'l Tas, and li'l Ayla that remind me of...I'm not sure what at the moment. I'll space-mull.

First of all, gotta say that this was Chlor's BEST YET. The Substitute Tots were excellently portrayed! Possibly/probably my favorite image of the entire MALE MODEL contest.

Loved seeing Thora and Azura (MEL:TS!!) back there in the admiring ladies shot.

Dean, you've given 110% to please everyone. I wish your SUPER/MALE MODEL threads were in comic book or magazine form exactly as they are. I want to hold these images in my hand, they're so well-done.

Now comes the hard part-- the vote-out.

[choke] I'm going with Shadow Kid.

Again, I have to go with Mekt, though I almost voted for Grev. He looks too much like the A-Ha guy in "Take on Me," and the camera caught him in that unfortunate mid-blink.

But Mekt is just too sour-pussy. He isn't helped by misbehaving Garth, but Chlor sure didn't let that kind of behavior phaze him.

Loved the Chlor pic, though I wish Color Tot could have been in it, too. Five would be quite a handful, though. It actually could have used a bit more color as everything but the greens seemed a bit washed out (pun not intended for the beach). Nicely put together, though.

Loved Empress' bathing cap. The second one reminded me of Lucille Ball with green lipstick with all that eyelash action. Fun fun fun!

Well, it's been a lot of fun. Declaring a winner isn't and shouldn't be easy for us.

Reviewing the pictures, I find that I didn't give Chlor enough credit for the funny banyo fruit/Beppo pic, and I prefer his non-skintight t-shirt/jeans look. The swimsuit picture remains my favorite of the competition, and he's got a heck of a smile.

Meanwhile, Grev's mankini still haunts me, in a bad way. I think he lost for me, there, in spite of his initial time bubble picture that I thought was so great.

So my pick for the guy with winning pics: Chlorophyll Kid

Dear Legion Worlders,
This was more fun for me than possibly any other Legion fan art/ fan fic I've done, ever. The inter-active aspect to this made it that way. I never would have sketched many, most, of the characters here, if they weren't suggested by you. I pushed myself to do clever things for you, to make the characters entertaining for you. I don't know of any other place where the people would "get it" like here.

Thank you SO much for the great responses. And I hope to keep it going!!! Check out my sig....
