Okay, so football season's still 1 month away. KID PRIME CAN'T WAIT!!! Seriously, I thought this would be a good time to start this one up again, since it was so much fun last year. And now that EDE's going to be closing his top 10 legionnaires poll soon, everything will dovetail nicely.
Some of you may remember this one from when I did it last year on the old DCMB's. The rules are very simple. You have to pick your personal top 25 favorite Legionnaires, and rank them in order of 1 to 25. Every so often, I will compile a numerical ranking of each Legionnaire voted upon on a weighted scale just like the sportswriters use when ranking the top college football teams in the U.S.A. Every #1 vote gets 25 points, every #2 gets 24 pts, and so on until your #25, who gets 1 point. There's really no way to do this kind of poll under the automated poll system, so everyone will have to post their own top 25 list.
Some additional guidelines: Every character who has ever been a Legionnaire, postboot or preboot, is eligible for selection. If a character is active in both periods, it doesn't matter which codename you use. For different characters who have the same codename (Lyle Norg and Jacques Foccart, for example,) make sure you specify which one. There are only two major exceptions to the preboot/postboot rule. Princess Projectra and Sensor the Snake are considered to be different characters for the purpose of this poll, as well as Kal-El and Kon-El.
This should be a lot of fun. The game last year was a big success! Let's all go out there and vote our TOP 25 Legionnaires of all time!!!

Here's the first count! A BIG thanks to Mystery Lad, Eryk Davis Ester, rokk steady, Arachne, Juan, Danny Blaine, and... well, me, for playing here at the beginning of the game!!! But enough about us, let's get on to what everyone's interested in... the RANKINGS!!!
Analysis: Lyle takes the early lead in the poll, and with no first-place votes. He was in 4 voters' top 10 though. Also, there is a HUGE logjam in the upper middle of the poll, with just 20 points separating #5 and #19. There is also a large number knocking on the door of the top 25, with numbers 26-30 just 10 points out. Finally, I'm a little surprised at how poorly Spark and Kid Quantum are doing thus far.

Ahh, I thought I'd lost someone. I ended up deleting Tellus from the bottom 'cos I thought I'd picked 26. So add him back as 25 and bump everyone else up.

Well, it's time to update the current standings! Thanks so much to Lightning Lad, Tromium Crystal, Reep, and penda for posting in their top 25 lists! So, without further ado, here we go!!!
Analysis: Saturn Girl moved fairly commandingly into the top spot, with a 14 point-lead over Cham in second at the moment. At the bottom of the poll, Kinetix droped out, while Superboy surged in at #23. The biggest movers this time were Lightning Lad, who snagged 2 first-place votes to move 11 spaces from #18 to #7, and Shrinking Violet, who, following her codename, shrunk 11 spaces, falling from #8 to #19. Another interesting thing is that both Dawnstar and Shikari are tied at 63 points right now, just out of the top 25. Finally, Spark picked up a bit of speed, but it wasn't enough to get her into the top 25. Kid Q, on the other hand, seems to be getting absolutely no love.

I think for a lot of them, I like the powers and potential more than the actual character. After the first 5 or 6, it's pretty hard to distinguish.

The BIG news this time around is that Invisible Kid has KNOCKED Saturn Girl out of the top position, in a commanding surge from #6 to #1! Lightning Lad has replaced Cosmic Boy and Dream Girl in the top 5, but with both of them lurking closely. The biggest winner this time around was Karate Kid, who kicked his way up 7 spaces from #23 to #16. The biggest loser was ironically Shrinking Violet, who shrunk 4 more spaces, from #17 to #21. Also, Spark left the top 25, while Dawnstar made an appearacne this time at #24.
There are a large number of Legionnaires fairly close together in the middle of the poll, and at the bottom of the list just below the top 25. Basically, this means that there is a LOT of room for people's favorite Legionnaires to move upward, and a lot of room for people's least favorites to descend!

Well, Triad was winning the one last year. She kind of came out of nowhere and took it all. I wonder if it'll happen again?
The other big differences are that Dawnstar was doing SIGNIFICANTLY better last year, while Garth is really making up for him poor performance last year (he wasn't even in the top 25 the majority of the time!)
Other than that, I kind of don't remember (and I guess that thread is gone now. Sigh.)

Actually, Stuey, everyone just gets one "vote" in this game. The "rounds" are just periosic tabulations that I'm doing to let everyone know what's going on in the overall poll. As promised, the analysis:
Invisible Kid holds on to the top spot for a second, with the surging Brainiac 5 nipping at his heels! Saturn Girl continues to drop, but look at that XS! Jenni makes a surprising surge to #11 this time! Also VERY interesting is Triad and Mon-El's jump into the top 5! Is Luornu preparing to run away with it all just like she did last year? The biggest winner this time were Triad AND Gates, who both SHOT up a very impressive 7 spots, Triad from #11 to #4, and Gates from #20 to #13. The biggest loser this week was Saturn Girl, who only dropped 4 places. There were a lot of small drops and gains this time, and I'm still surprised how dense the poll is in places. There's a LOT of room yet for momement! For the first time in the game, no one dropped out of the top 25.
This is definitely fun, and I almost forgot!!! BIG thanks to Super Lad Kid, Stu, Outdoor Miner, Varalent, and superboymddjr for playing this time around. You guys are the best!!!!!

Analysis: The lower half of the top 10 is really heating up! Those slots are all VERY tightly clustered together. XS speeds her way up into the top 5!!! I think Jenni has become the biggest surprise for me in this poll this year. Lyle is still at #1, but Brainy is right on his heels. The top 25 as a whole has pretty much moved away from the rest of the pack, with Shikari being the only one not in the top 25 within shooting distance. The big winner this time was XS, who moved up 6 slots to #5! And the biggest loser this time was Cosmic Boy, who moved down 4 places from #7 to #11. Shikari dropped out of the top 25, and Spark moved into 25'th place.

Grrr!! How can all you people vote Lyle into the #1 slot and not vote for the love of his life, Condo (Chemical King) to be in the top 25 in order to keep him happy?
