Gotta be one of the coolest shows on TV. Best character is easily Henry. Really fun, but smart too.

Posted by Blockade Boy on :

Henry's one of favs too but Jo is the one I'd want setting me right. Her and Sara. I need a lot of guidance.

One character I do miss from the pilot that's been sorely missing IMO is Lojak.

Don't have cable so I'm watching on DVD. Anybody that wants to spoil the latest season, s'allright by me.

well, you do have a computer, so let me be the one to give you this little gift, lol.

http://www.scifi.com/eureka/

Episodes in order are :

1. Bad to the drone.
2. What about Bob?
3. Best in Faux.
4. I do over.

I wont' spoil it for you cause that would kill the surprise, and it is a doozy.

Posted by Blockade Boy on :

Wow, I didn't know you could do that.

Looks like I'll be spending some time at the coffee shop, I'm on dial-up at home.

Thanks!

Posted by rickshaw1 on :

no problem. Remember to turn off the music down at the bottom left, and go to full episodes.

They even have the enhanced eps with commentary. To me, this is the little show that could, lol. And the show is full ah' dem quirky hotties, lol.

Anyone watched the last season? Loved the last show, something completely different. Nice little cliffhanger.

Whatcha think?

Posted by rickshaw1 on :

Hi folks. Just checking in to see if anyone knows when the new episodes will be airing. Supposed to be sometime in January, and since it is now January, just trying to find out. Thanks, all.

Doesn't seem to be a new ep schedule anywhere on Scifi.com, so I got nuthin.'

Lupo is hot, hot, hot. If anyone ends up playing Wonder Woman, it should be someone that looks like her. (or the woman who plays Lt. Reese in Life.)

Posted by Blockade Boy on :

you just like the handcuffs.

Posted by rickshaw1 on :

Lupo is hot, very true. Allison ain't no sour bread either. Lexi, however, is quickly becoming annoying to me. We need Nathan back. The show is missing that dynamic tension now.

For the fans of Eureka, here's a little sump'in sump'in to get the juices off tha flatline...

Pretty lady. Don't know that i have seen her before, but i trust the creators.

That said...Allison...hot dang.

any ideas of when will we see the new episodes? I hope it's sooon!!! so far I have seen the new episodes of both Ghost Hunters and GHI..... so what about Eureka? and I am so looking forward seeing the reruns of the MoonLight on Fridays!

Posted by rickshaw1 on :

From what i just read today, its going to be the summer. They might as well call it season 4.

I have actually joined the boards over at Eureka at Scifi.com and they are talking about the long delay there as well. Everyone is afraid that Scifi is taking so long the show will lose its following and get cancelled.

Which, given that it is one of their most anticipated shows, and that it actually IS scifi, would be a dang shame.

Posted by rickshaw1 on :

Hi folks. I just looked at the forums for the show and they are saying that the show returns on June 10th. A friday. Unfortunately, that means that I wont be able to see it til the next day, usually.

The good news is that it is indeed returning. Been some troubling scheduling out of SiFi from what I have read lately.

Two more days til we get more Eureka!

Yup.

Killed in another reality.

By any chance, the writer isn't Geoff Johns is it?

Gol'durn it! ONly scifi i can get is reruns. I was looking forward to the show tonight. Gonna have to watch it on the 'puter tomorrow. That just flat out sucks the big one.

Posted by rickshaw1 on :

Double Dang'gum it! It's July 10th, not June 10th. This show is startin' to remind me of DC comics.

rassafrassin' late shows...

heh nah...the Murder show - Mni-Series - called Harper's Island - quite an interesting show if I might add. He was killed by someone and put in the incinerator burned to death.

Yes yes yes yes yes..to quote Eddie Murphy. Man I have missed this show. Smart, quirky, funny, intelligent. I even liked the resolution of the sheriff angle being done in a sort of walk off homer solution.

I think sheriff andy could make a return as a guest star some, but I would rather see Matt Frewer's character back.

Gravitometric baby cribs and birthing chambers...funny stuff. As for Lexi, like the actress, not so much the character. Squishy sheriffs with self interest programing that reminds me of responsometers.

I love this show. Favorite scifi show of all time right here, folks.

Just watched "your face or mine". It was okay. Its like it was a place holder one off episode. The pregnant sister wasn't there, but we get a possible new love interest character for Fargo.

Jo...really looks great in a slinky dress. Especially with those tanned legs, lol.

Carters little test..I think it mirrors a lot in life. You have a series of challenges. The first one is the hardest, but once you solve it, it seems to open the doors up in your head to figuring out things, and makes the others easier.

Still waiting for Matt Frewer to show back up. Things always get funnier and crazier when hes around. The Zane character...startin to look a little chubby in the face, lol. Guess being a regular on a show is paying him too well, he's eatin' to good.

"Insane in the P-Brane", the third episode of season 3.5 (why not just call it 4?) finally got to the meat of the half season season.

Spoilerssssssssss

So, basically, there's this signal, and it's coming from out there...somewhere. And whatever is generating the signal...is coming as well.

This episode served to introduce us to the new angle of the shows love triangle. We have Jack, Allison, and very pretty but bad hair lady. Dont remember her name. She's cute, pretty, talks a lot as Jack mentions, is an old friend of Allison's, is attracted to Jack....Oh, and she's on loan from CETI, has reopened Section 5 (Jack HATES that section) and is going to be in charger, the lead person on that pesky signal I mentioned above.

Also, she's smart, as we mentioned in a roundabout way, and has goofy sense of humor.

At the same time, familiar ground is being covered, but in a new iteration. Allison seems to be headed down the bleak and Stark trail (yes, pun intended and relevant). She's having to keep secrets from Jack...AGAIN. Henry, our very favorite, is on the case...AGAIN.

We meet the dad of Lexi's twins, a guy that seems to be perfect...until he isn't. (And guys will dislike him because the character plays all the sensitive hollywood new-age guy notes, in other words...a doucebag. He reveals his supposedly true colors (remember, this is Eureka, there's almost always more than one angle to the story) with Lexi's big reveal.

Zane wasn't in the episode. Unfortunately, neither was Matt Frewer's character. Jo, after having her spotlight ep last ep, basically stood around ducking flying hydrants, dogs, and cars.

But, it feels like the show is finding its groove again after an interminable break.

And even pregnant, Allison is still freakin' hot. What do they have to do to ugly this woman up, hit her with a car?

Anyway, good episode and I can't wait for the next.

Alright. Less than a month now til the new season of Eureka comes out.

There's been a lot of cast changes over the last few seasons, but I'm hoping it will settle down a bit and we will get some really great stories out of the new season.

Posted by superboymddjr on :

wow Eureka s becoming more and more gritty and interesting....

truly poignant with the deputy Andy - he s in love with SARAH. they are my favorite "characters" for some odd reason. [Smile]

Poor Fargo, I think he's bitten more than he's chewing...(is that how you guys say it? I am not well familiar with the idioms - may be wrong)....

and am loving Warehouse 13 and am getting warmed up on Alphas. (bonus: the new guy who can tell who s lying or not- he came out to Claudia saying "I am GAY!" heh)

Posted by rickshaw1 on :

the phrase is "bitten off more than he can chew". but we got the jist. [Wink]

Posted by Set on :

Jo is still my favorite character, and, freakishly, I don't hate Zane this season. The change in his relationship with Jo, because of the timeline-change, actually has me interested in their relationship, instead of loathing him. [Smile]

Jack's having trouble staying professional around Alison 'on the job,' and it's irking her. That's a nice bit of tension to keep them from falling into a stale 'couple' routine.

Fargo was uncharacteristically competent in the rocket-ship excusion (and Zane uncharacteristically panicky, IMO). 'Fargo' and 'competent' are two tastes that I'm not sure were ever meant to go together in the same sammich, but I'm digging it so far. He can't be the buttmonkey forever. (And Larry can now take on that role, if they need a buttmonkey.)

I laughed at the goofy smile of enthusiasm on Deputy Andy's face when Sarah suggested that they could still be 'friends with benefits.' [Smile]

So, so, terribly wrong.

Posted by rickshaw1 on :

Hmmm.

Okay, the new half season is interesting, yes. But there seems to have been a mass exodus of the older characters with less than so great newer characters.

Part of what made Jack work was having the responsibility of not only being sheriff in the one town in the world where the ridiculus, the impossibly improbable and the catastrophically crazy all must happen at regular intervals for the town to have any meaning at all, and being a dad to Zoe.

Nathan worked because there was real friction between the characters.

Matt Frewer worked because while he was a bit strange and out there, his character had a bit of charm that made it incomprehensibly work.

Still, its not bad, not at all, I'll take it over nearly 95% of the mainstream crap.

but it seems like the heartbeat has slowed a bit.

I'm finally caught up (almost) to the current episode. Netflix finally made the first half of season 4 available. I watched both discs last night. Then watched all the available episodes of season 4.5 on Hulu. The tone of the show has certainly changed, but I do like how they've kept the relationships dynamic over the lifetime of the show. I do miss Nathan, but the arc they've created for Jo this season has been great.

Posted by rickshaw1 on :

I agree with that about Jo, DL. She's much more in charge than she was before, and its bringing out more interesting aspects. I did like the Drill Instructor moments though, it brought us back a little to her roots at the beginning of the show, where she was a gun-totin' badass.

Posted by rickshaw1 on :

Okay, this ep was much better. First, it had Zoe in it. Second, there was a feel much more akin to the first season with Beverly back as a baddie. third, Allison looked smokin hot, moreso than usual. 4th, while the tech was a little out there, much more believable and worked very well for the episode.

Season seems to be getting a direction. Good, it needed it after the last one, which was kinda flat.

Ugh. Syfy seems determined to ensure I never watch their network. EW.com is reporting that they've canceled Eureka, which leaves no shows on Syfy that I have any interest in.

I really don't understand the mindset of the executives over there. They couldn't keep BSG going, they cut Caprica loose after just one season, SGU got just two seasons, and now Eureka after four seasons. They've gotta know that they're not going to get the kind of numbers that the big networks get so if they can't pay for these extravagant shows, why do they tease us with a couple of seasons then pull the rug out?

Posted by rickshaw1 on :

yeah, Carol told me about it. But they still have the episodes paid for for the fifth season from what I read. Really sucks, but I think the quality has dropped off a little this last season. Show lost too many characters that made it so fun and quirky, like Stark and Zoe on a regular basis, and Matt Frewer's character. the chemistry was messed up.

This sucks. I like Warehouse 13, but it doesn't hold the sci fi factor that Eureka does/did. Alphas is okay, but it's no Eureka.

Posted by Set on :

They really are ramping up the geek cred with casting like Wil Wheaton and Felicia Day.

Good to see Alison getting her mojo back, and everyone working together to save the day (and Fargo being the one who figures out how to make it happen).

I think the writers are having too much fun seeing how many cliches they can throw at Larry...

It's been too long since we've been reminded that Jo is suspiciously stronger than she looks, really fond of firing big guns (why did she not shoot that chopper down at the end of last episode again? Chekov's gun, people! Don't show Jo carrying a huge-ass gun and then staring in helpless frustration at someone getting away!), and Jet Li-levels of kicking people's butts. I want to see more Action Jo and less doey-eyed-staring-at-Zane-Jo!

Yeah, SyFy announced that it has 1 season and 1 episode (after the current season finishes mind you) to wrap-up. Over at the official SyFy boards everryone is going ape*poo* over it. I say, at least the writers have a chance to tie up most of the dangeling plot threads and take it out with syle instead of being totally surprised with a sudden cancelation.

can't believe yesterday that Zane so HOT!!!!!!! he s a BEEFCAKE!!! nice pec!!!! shirtless!!!! someone get Rockhopper Lad! whoa.

anyone seen tonight's episode - pretty good....especially gut wrenching with Andy!!! that was hilarious but yet at the same time sympathetic. [Smile]

Andy and Sara are my favorite couple on the show. Between the two of them, they have so much character. Andy says stuff that's just groan-inducing, and always has that huge cheesy totally sincere grin, it's hilarious. Plus there's the flat-out uncomfortableness when Andy goes off to 'be intimate' with Sara. Carter just kind of shivers, as if he's having a bad mental image... [Smile]

I spent the earlier seasons loathing Zane (and Zoe's boyfriend, whateverthehellhisnamewas), but Zane's totally turned it around for me.

Something about the character writing on this show really appeals to me. I watch new characters get introduced on other shows, and they occasionally are ham-fistedly shoved in the audience's face with a 'you *must* love this character!' tagged all over them. Here, even a character that by definition has to be kinda awesome, like Henry's surprise wife, the character has human moments, both good and bad, and isn't introduced on some sort of unassailable pedastal. The characters seem to have to earn whatever affection the audience has for them, and aren't declared by writer fiat to be 'the one you must love because they're so awesome.'

Even Carter and Alison have their moments of tension, where one or the other gets their priorities all wrong, or says the exact wrong thing, or puts off saying the right thing and lets things get out of control.

Nobody on this show seems to be getting a free ride from the writers, and that's kind of neat.

Set yes you nailed it !!! thats what I love watching Eureka. Good to see Taggart there. He stole the spotlight as well. [Smile]

SARAH and Andy...ah...I wonder if they will get "married" at the end of the season? I hope so! [Smile]

Posted by rickshaw1 on :

Andy and Sara are a pleasant surprise. Taggert showing up makes the season in my opinion. I can do without the Zane character. The actor is good, and I like him, but the character don't do much for me.

I'm liking the competition to get on the Astraeous mission, and I'm even Will Wheaton. I find it hysterical that I'm watching The Guild now, and Wheaton and the good lil doc tagged up on it, but not here.

The show has lost a lot of characters, some that make a quick return, hit and run, and not all the new characters have made it or been that great, but overall, the show has maintained a consistent quality that always leaves a smile on my face.

One more season to go. Gonna miss it. Hey, maybe we can get a "Serenity" style movie outta it.

Posted by rickshaw1 on :

Well, I think we are down to the last two episodes of the series now. I hate to see the show go, since it's one of the few true Sci-fi shows out there. It's been a fun run full of great little characters, some nice extrapolations of real science and possible future applications, and some genuinely funny moments.

Posted by Set on :

I'm gonna miss this show.

The last episode annoyed me. As of the end of the previous episode's big reveal, it seemed 'obvious' to me that a body-blank / dupe of Grace would be handed off to Major Shaw at the end of the next episode, to 'serve her time' while allowing the real Grace to stay out of jail. When, mid-episode, Major Shaw is conveniently sent off on a wild goose chase far out of Eureka, it seemed even more likely.

And then... not so much.

Weird.

I wonder if Zoe is going to show up for the finale? I could understand if the actress is not available, but it would be odd if she didn't get an appearance in the final episode...

Posted by rickshaw1 on :

and so it ends. as much as i loved this show, the final season of it seemed very... subdued. More of a whimper than a bang. But then, it did seem to lose a lot of impetus the last two seasons. Too many thing from outta left field that took it away from the core of the show it seemed. Still a lot of great sci-fi, lots of good with the characters that stayed with the show 'til the end, but...

Oh hell, the show lost a lot when it lost Stark. Jack had no real antagonist after that, no friend/enemy to play off. Zoe left the show, Frewer left the show...things took turns that didn't seem to pan out.

That said, it was still better than 95% of the regular fare that the big three + put out there.

Good bye, Eureka. I'm gonna miss ya.
