Welcome to......
Kill This Thread XXXV
The following rules were established by Kent Shakespeare at the start of the first 24-hour version, adapted from the original rules by EDE:
The rules:
1. The Basic Idea: Post to this thread, if no one posts after you for 24 hours, you win!
2. Posts that are not direct responses to one of the five preceding posts are ineligible to win. The topic can drift, but no complete non-sequitors. Posts that are responses to non-sequitors are also ineligible to win. Posts that are responses to responses to non-sequitors, and response nses to those posts, etc., become eligible, however.
3. In the event that this thread is locked, there shall be no winner unless a new thread is started for the contest. Furthermore, any post that results in the banning of the poster shall also be ineligible to win.
4. So, more precisely, one wins if one makes a post, and then no one makes another post that's eligible to win for 24 hours.
Here's a history of our various felons, along with a few missed opportunities.....

Congrats on the win, Ibby! All these timestamps get me confused as for whatever reason, I can't seem to line them up with EST in my configuration. Does anybody really know what time it is?

Nighty keeps two sets of books. There's the one which displays "Yesterday At/Today At" versus the one which displays "X number of hours ago." This is the source of all my woes, but I suppose if he explained it all he'd have to kill me instead of the thread. Anyway, who wants some iced coffee? I made plenty.

thanks GL!
I think I was able to set my time settings to follow my own time zone. It helps!

I think I was able to set my time settings to follow my own time zone. It helps! I tried. But hey, I'm here for the conversation and the iced coffee. By the way, Vietnamese iced coffee - amazing. The Pho joints in my area (and the truck that comes to my neighborhood!) have *amazing* iced coffee...

Nothing beats a chicken or veggie Banh Mi and a big stomping glass of Thai iced coffee, or tea.
We fixed dinner at home tonight, though: a Nicoise Salad with some smoked trout instead of the usual tuna fish.

The same Pho truck that comes to the neighborhood also has an amazing Banh Mi.
In our area, there's been an explosion of food choices, as well as the food trucks that come to you, versus them being at a large event with many trucks. Its one of the few nice things to come out of the pandemic, but who knows if it will keep now that things are getting back to normal?

Fingers crossed.
I'm also eager to travel again. I always try the local goodies when I do... Ah... Indian food in India (to be precise, the food varies per region so one must always look for the regional specialties - and this applies to any country of course!)

Me too - I'm really chomping at the bit. Granted, I typically don't go international, but I do the same habit of going to the local places, if possible.
Typically I only travel for work to Atlanta, Seattle and (shudder) Las Vegas. But I'd take a Vegas trip at this point just to get away.

With the Delta variant in the press already, I'm going to embrace being broke and just keep trying to hunker down where I am.
Plenty of great food carts in this town still for outdoor dining happiness.

Mmm. I am getting fully vaccinated in August, and will keep an eye out on the effectivity... I really miss traveling.
it does help that most countries I've lived in have been fairly small... compared to the big old US of A. That's really given me a lust for traveling far and wide.

The letter says I have a choice between Pfizer and Moderna. Although I hear from others recently vaccinated that they were only offered Pfizer at the vaccination station.

Gotcha. I did Moderna, seemed to do well for me. Was tired a day after the second dose, but good to go since! Either should be fine, though.

I had my first shot last week. AstraZeneca which we have plenty of because it is manufactured locally. August for my second shot. Not too worried about the rare blood clot side effect. Much greater odds of dying in a car crash.

Gotcha. I did Moderna, seemed to do well for me. Was tired a day after the second dose, but good to go since! Either should be fine, though. I had Moderna, too. Second dose, I took 2 lengthy naps the next day and still slept thru the night. Arm was sore maybe 3 days. That was the extent of my side effects.
Still "Lardy" to my friends!

I actually have no idea if that was gin, tequila, vodka or whiskey. But it was good!

Somebody should've gotten the bartender's license number.

I'm very particular on the spirits - it can't be just any tequila, vodka or gin.
