I still have a photo from the pre-internet days, of my parents' cat Harry licking a grill next to the fireplace that my dad used to cook steaks in the wintertime. Harry was renowned for his cleaning skills.

Nothing remains of all those days but the photo. Dad and Harry are long gone. The house was torn down.

I'm glad I didn't accidentally toss the photo.

You know, you could always post Harry's pic somewhere. Then he would live on in the memories of us all, and those we show it to and who come after us.

I should scan those pictures someday soon. I was waiting because my computer drive was so full. But I have an exterior hard drive now.

My man uses Google Drive to store pics. I just use Facebook - upload into private albums only I can see. Oh, and the spybots, and the CIA...

I'm so paranoid, I duplicate my photos between Google, Microsoft and Apple.

always wise to have multiple redundancies

I never really look back at photos so 1) don't take many and 2) have them scattered over some drives. I did back them up though.

I don't take any *current* photos. Because I only have a flip phone. We have two broken digital cameras and I need to find out if there's anyone still alive in town who might repair them for me.

My first digital camera had some sort of setting issue. So I have lovely pictures with a purple tinge. It was a known issue, so not just me, which is what I thought it would be.

I occasionally find the old digital camera or video recorder when I'm moving stuff or searching for other things.

My youngest daughter is interested in photography and so my brother in law loaned one of his older cameras to her. It's digital but its a pretty sophisticated deal. Way more than I'm used to dealing with!

Better than the Pain Plague

A bit of a pain looking at them. I know a couple of folk very into their photography. One has the pennies to get a very good standard of kit. The other has to be creative with what they have. Both good at it. Both incapable of not going on about it, until you lapse into a coma.

I have my photos set as the changing background on my computer. Gives me the chance to reminisce on the locations and events involved.
