Cleome, I, too, love Katana.
The scene in an issue of Batman & the Outsiders where she comforts Halo with a lullaby is one of the most beautiful and moving things I've ever seen in a comic book.

Originally posted by MLLASH's back: Nice cover. I recently reread the whole Trigon saga and didn't care for it at all.
A lot of Wolfman's old TT stories didn't age well for me. Sad to say, same for me. I found that a lot of his battles weren't all that exciting. But I still find a lot of his stories golden, such as the Judas Contract, the Trigon story, and Crisis on Infinite Earths.

I couldn't come up with anywhere else to post this, so....
I just re-read New Teen Titans #7 (the pre-Baxter series that went to being DC's #1 book). It took me the better part of a half hour to read. Why? Because it had sooo much stuff packed into a single issue. We had the re-forming of the Fearsome Five, the rescue of Psion from limbo, the taking (by the Five) of Titans Tower, the capture of the mysterious secret resident of the tower by the Five, the Titans (remember them) returning from Azerath and forgiving Raven for past deceptions, offering her a home in the process, Cyborg expressing reservations about same, the Titans returning to the tower to find it breached, a big battle with the Five, Cyborg learning that the secret resident/designer of the tower was his dad and that his dad was dying, Cyborg and his dad spending the last three months of dad's life together and finally developing a relationship, almost too late.
These days that one story would be spread out over a year's worth of books, at least. And they wonder why sales are down.
First comic books ever bought: A DC four-for-47-cents grab bag that included Adventure #331. The rest is history.

All that PLUS the origin of Cyborg ? That would be two trades by today's standards!

I have "new" NTT comics to read and I have The Hermit to blame------I mean thank. After his mention of NTT 7, I had to go check my box to see if I had it. See, I came into the Titans a few years into the W/P era, and it has only been in the last 10 years or so that I've filled in the earliest issues. I picked them up on the cheap as I ran across them in bargain bins, but I think some of them got filed without being read. I have all except for 1 and 2, but I have the Tor paperback with reformatted b&w reprints of the first 3. I think it's time for a read/re-read of the first year....
BTW Herms, you a Titans fan in general, or is it the black cover background thing?

I was going to say kind of, but when I looked up old issues I realized that I actually had been a Titans fan pretty much from the start, having bought the original Showcase and B&B issues and several early issues of the first series as well.
I think I was dead center in the target audience for the original series, because every time I started to feel like I was outgrowing it, they matured the characters and storylines and kept me buying the book. I had a crush on Lilith when they introduced her and stuck with the entire original run from that point on. I also remember the whole Titans East-West thing in the late 70s, and was on board for the entire standard-format New Teen Titans run in the early 80s. I finally lost interest when Perez left the series and really haven't been able to get into the group since.
Guess that makes me a former fan.

I moved on to other things around the time Perez left too. Since then I've read some earlier (SA, 70s) stories and some of the later Titans incarnations too, but nothing compares. I don't know if anything can; that era was my own personal Golden Age, and the Titans were the reason I joined the party in the first place.

They were going to split them off again weren't they, just before Perez came back? Cyborg would move out West. Possibly Changeling for the movies.

One of my favorits Teen Titans covers of all time, if not my favorite. One of my favorite Titans covers ever. I think this was the first TT story I ever read. But shouldn't Robin's collar have come off with his cape? And I never noticed the black border before.

Peebz, thanks for sharing that series of covers featuring Kole. Alas, poor Kole, we only knew her for such a short time...
She was featured on at least 3 of the covers of COIE too!
Sigh. She'll always be a member of MY ideal Titans team.

I was getting the news stand Titans so I think she was dead before I saw her in a Titans title. That kind of took the loss out of it for me
