Now you totally have me wanting to put a lampshade around my waist. I might have to take it out... a LOT... first.

is she wearing clothes here?

Technically, since she seems to be able to shapeshift her 'clothing,' I suspect that, like Cham, she's pretty much naked all the time, with only the appearance of clothing.

Which also suggests that elder statesman of the League, the Martian Manhunter has also been running around naked for the last thirty years...


Never liked Kole's outfit. Never liked her 'origin.' (Yeah, we're the Titans of myth, ancient enemies of the Greek gods, and we've got this mortal chick who hangs out with us that we call our 'crystal-spinner' and who apparently is going to go join you now, 'cause we weren't sure what was up with her being here in Tartarus with us...)

But wow, I love that power (well, the 'crystal-spinning' anyway, not so much the flight-for-no-damned-reason). Marvel had a similarly-powered character named Krystalin as a member of the X-Men 2099.

Crystal-construct-making is even awesomer than Polar Boy's ice generation!

I prefer Kole and Lilith's pleats to Miss Martian's. Though I like all three costumes.

And I'm throwing another vote into the LOVE Kole's hair camp! First of all - I love that she has brown hair! How many heroic femmes in the DCU have brown hair? Mary Marvel and... anyone else? Kole was almost unique. Plus I love the curly bob thing she had going on.

Kole, especially as drawn by JLGL, always had a classily classic 1920s kind of thing going on I thought. Like she had been a flapper girl before Thia kidnapped her and took her to the underworld (which would have been a better origin than that dumb, weird scientist's daughter one we got).

Plus, then we could have seen her and Lilith in a dance off! Kole's Charleston versus Lilith's Mashed Potato... TO THE DEATH!

Brown? It always looked orange/red, like Lilith's, to me.

You are totally right about the reddish hair too. I just went and looked back at my old issues and she is indeed red in all of them. I have no idea what/who I was thinking of with that brown-haired comment. Tula maybe?

I still love the hair-style and the costume though. Especially in the pic above. The costume gives the impression of shimmering crystal which is a cool effect and obviously a nice call-back to her powers IMO.

... But all my comments should really be taken with a grain of salt, as I think I've lost my mind - I like Azrael now remember.

Whenever a girl would have that face right before a hook-up at the bar, it would usually result in weeks of craziness and stalker-ish run-ins!

PS - Miss Martian's costume is hella-kewl! And sexy-cute!

Man, Kole must have amazing biceps. I mean, how heavy do you think those crystal sleeves of hers are? And she just waves her arms like they're little bits of paper.

Here is a real-life skirt similar to the two middle MM illustrations. I'd call this a circle or full skirt -- the way it falls is due to its cut and construction, not pleats.




But back to Kole!

No, no, let's talk that skirt. It's really cute.

I love girls in cute skirts. Girls should wear them more! But as long as it either has pleats or is or is a circle/full skirt like above.

All other skirts can burn in hades.

Kole did suffer from crazy-face, unfortunately. You know how you can just look at some people's faces and see that they are probably insane?

It's kinda like gay-face. Don't know what gay-face is? I'll BRB with an example...

There's almost as much going on here as there is with Kole's costume. Just sayin'.

Are there all that many pastel superhero costumes?

Sure, the Legion has/had its pink brigade, but they were usually brighter pinks, not pastel pink.
