What is it about her?? Maybe it was her drop-dead (no pun intended!!) first-yet-posthumous appearance.

cool name, cool look, and under-used... she left a lot for the imagination.
chemical king was also 'pre-dead,' but was never anywhere near as interesting.
The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

I definitely like her hairdo and way-futuristic tiara. I have mixed feeling about the outfit, like maybe it's good raw material but needs reworking!!
It's kind of funny, Queen Projectra's ensemble in the LSH 300 group portrait reminds me of Quantum Queen!! Same colors, interesting idea, but not quite there yet!!
QQ's W-shaped neckline reminds me of when the Wasp used to have the same thing. I think Jan's was white with blue trim. OK, I guess QQ came first except that she didn't because she's 1000 years later!!

actually, I was thinking of her look from the 80s Wanderers series.
now that you mention, she did have a Jeckie-like quality, even beyond the hair.
The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

I saw an issue or two of The Wanderers. The most boring comics ever!! So I'm sort of pretending they don't exist.
I prefer to think of her in the Great Darkness Saga. She didn't have any dialogue but there were some very cool pictures. See LSH 294, panel 2 on page 8 and page 37.
I don't really remember her from the Adventure story with the Wanderers though!!

"See which members will live... marry... get fat... go bald... die!"
Yes, that cover was VERY intriguing.
It's a shame we never got to see her join the team. She would have been a powerhouse femme member.

I've sketched QQ in the past. I recall Giffen making her look really effective during GDS. TMQM, you've been drumming all kinds of stuff, lately that have made me wanna do some sketchin!

Her powers were intriguing too. Is it any wonder she seems to be the most popular of the Wanderers?

I've always found her intriguing--I think it's b/c we know she was fated to die as a Legionnaire, but we never actually ever got to see her join!
That little bit of fore-knowledge always made her appearances so cool (which were few and far between and very brief).

I like the Wanderers/Heroes of Lallor type heroes too. The ones that exist along with the Legion but haven't yet joined, for whatever reason. Were Quantum Queen's powers similar to the current Kid Quantum or even Capt. Atom's for that matter? - so many DCU quantum powered heroes. And, may I say, Deanlegion, you are an INCREDIBLE artist. So much depth and realism to the faces - and in a sketch, no less! I'd love to see your take on the Pre-Boot Nura and her baby sis, Mysa. But, regardless, you're a fabulous artist!!!

Miss T, Dean is THE man to ask for Nura artwork. I'm sure he'll have stuff dug up for you in no time! I actually don't really have too much interest in Quantum Queen, though I always did find her visually more interesting than the rest of the Wanderers and was perked by her first appearance as a 'dead' Legionnaire. Weren't QQ's powers the ability to imitate any form of light and their speed/effects, be it radiation or otherwise? I don't remember, though they did allow her to handle herself well in the Wanderers' Adventure-era story.

I think she definitely stood out among the Wanderers, not only because of the "future Legionnaire" aspect, but also because a lot of the Wanderers weren't all that exciting, imo.
Her powers were, as I recall, the ability to project light beams of any sort (including lasers), and maybe the ability to convert herself to light as well.

The only one must dead is the current Kid Quantum. She can't be the Cosmic Boy's lover. Rokk belongs to Lydda. And the old Queen Quantum has more glamour.
From UK with glamour.

This was the first Legion issue I ever saw...and the first one I bought. I was about 13 at the time. I still remember how fascinated I was by the characters on the cover...and the idea that they had died as heroes. Through the years it was fun to watch each of them make their first appearance in the Legion's story, and every time they were in a story I'd wonder if this would be the time they met their destiny. Man, how good it is to feel 13 again.

Quinn, thank you for posting that sketch here! I'd kinda forgotten about this thread! I did a couple other sketches of QQ, which I still have and need to scan...
I've sketched Beauty Blaze before, but have never really felt like she looked beautiful enough. Curt Swan drew some amazingly beautiful women.....
Miss Terious, I used to "own/run" a Nura Nal yahoo group called dreamgirlnura. I regularly did sketches and photomanips of Nura and posted them there. I'd also post them at the LegionPics and LSH-Pics yahoo groups. When yahoo quit allowing picture attachments to be archived at the group sites, I really started to participate at the sites less and less, then I dissolved the Nura group. Luckily, LegionWorld came along soon after that and I've been regularly posting stuff here. There's a lot of interest in more obscure characters here, like Infectious Lass and Calamity King and Lester Spiffany, so I've been doing sketches of those type characters. I am proud to tell you that the image you chose as your icon is one of my photomanips!
Future, thanks for the kind remark!

So what info is there on Quantum Queen? I'm intriqued and can't find anything. Does anyone know her origin, name, powers, history etc? I can feel another story brewing..
Legion Worlds NINE - wait, there's even more ongoing amazing adventures? Yup, and you'll only find them in the Bits o' Legionnaire Business Forum.
