So this is what all the Mike Nasser hijinks are about. That'll teach me not to visit the Legion forum for a few days.
Maybe he changed his surname after realizing that, in the Legion's time, "Nasser" is a rude epithet...

I think "Nasserdeen" may have been part of it. They mentioned that in college he was known as "Funky Nasser". Indeed. When I read his interview in Legion Companion, he made oblique references to an important future project he was working on. Guess this must be it. Wow. A fine artist, but I still say Cockrum is God.

You're right, his real real name was something like "Nassedeen" (then the switch to Nasser, then Netzer). A fine artist, but I still say Cockrum is God. [/QB] Amen to that! How about a Cockrum Icon for all us Dave followers.

Getting closer to "nutso" all the time... Speaking of artists with an apparent screw loose, did Neil Adams ever publish that book which he said was going to prove his unifying theory of the universe?

Curt Swan is the closest Legion artist to GODHOOD, being chief among the lesser GODS. Cockrum is but a demi-GOD at best.

He was a fairly well respected sports commentator who "got" religion in a big way. Unfortunately he turned into a bit of a laughing stock when he appeared on a national chat show in a pink jogging outfit, and proceeded to try to tell everyone he was the son of God. To be fair what he actually said was that God is in everyone and that therefore we are all the sons of God. However the media picked up on this and crucified the poor sod. Since then he has become a bit of a byword for the “Looney” religious.

How cool. I see you're still using the user icon I made for you a couple of years ago, Faraway. Sweet Ass Sweet.
But...back to the topic...that's some beautiful work by 'ol Mike. I didn't know he could dig that deep and crank out such nice stuff. I'll grant you it's a bit on the "looney" side but I'll put up with a lot of wierd philosophies to get the goods from an artist. Nice work.
