With LegionWorld.net having changed its orbit, the Time Mis-Trapper has also been beaten back. And his legacy must not be allowed to infest this continuum after him!
If you'd been making any "Time Adjustment" in your profile, whether or not you made up for the previous server having been one day behind, you ought to go now to My Profile | View/Change Profile.
Most people who've made an adjustment will need to subtract 23 hours from it. This is because: ~ The new server is keeping an accurate date. (Minus 24) ~ The new server is in the Pacific time zone, rather than the Mountain time zone. (Plus 1)
If you hadn't adjusted for the bad date, only the plus 1 change is needed, for LW.net having moved west by one time zone.
Thus you'll probably need a new adjustment of the following for your time zone: ~ 0 for Pacific Daylight (now GMT/UTC -7) ~ 1 for Mountain Daylight (now GMT/UTC -6) ~ 2 for Central Daylight (now GMT/UTC -5) ~ 3 for Eastern Daylight (now GMT/UTC -4) ~ 4 for Atlantic Daylight (now GMT/UTC -3) ~ 8 for British/Irish Summer (now GMT/UTC +1) ~ 9 for European Summer (now GMT/UTC +2)
These adjustments will stay valid when North America and Europe go off Daylight/Summer time in the next few weeks.
For others on Sol III, please note that LegionWorld is at GMT/UTC -7 until the end of Daylight Time in North America, on 26 October, and adjust accordingly.

Thanks, Grey, this is the first time since I joined that board time and 'real' time have matched. Simple, or should be, but I just never thought about it.

Actually, I did realize that this could be done. I didn't realize that when the poll said it was stopping at such and such board time that it was taking into account your time zone adjustment... I thought that it was showing server time.

The polls are showing server time. It's the same as "board time," and it's Pacific (now Standard, and GMT-8). Specifically, the leadership poll ends at 12:00 pm PST.
Every time display on Legion World reflects the adjustment, if any, set in your profile -- except for poll openings or closings, and for the time a post has been edited. Those two are shown as server times.

Actually, the displayed poll closing time does seem to vary according to how you set your time preferences. Mine, for instance, reads that the election ends at "2:00 pm board time". The assumption that that meant server time was what was leading to the earlier confusion over the actual time the poll ends.

You're on Central time? I wonder, then, whether this setting was changed at some point in the UBB software. I recall poll times, for those running when this board was on the older server, as all then reflecting Mountain time. (I could be mistaken, though. The original Web host also bollixed up the date.)
"Board time" being used to mean "time reflecting your chosen adjustment" is a truly strange verbal construction on the part of this software.
In any event, the time-stamp on edited posts is indeed set to reflect server time. It must be stored in the messages in a manner that doesn't use a database variable to allow such adjustments -- a strange programming choice.

It's still the case tho. Originally posted by Greybird: In any event, the time-stamp on edited posts is indeed set to reflect server time. I'm willing to bet its inserted as basically plain text into the post, unlike the posting times which are Javascript functions. Ikonboards do something similar (although they insert LOCAL times plain text into the post - which leads to some people seeing posts as having been edited before they're posted . If they're going to insert it as text rather than variables, server time's better)

The original setting did reflect Mountain time as it was hosted in Utah, which is on Mountain time. As the board is now in a Pacific time zone, as previously stated by Grey, that is what the times here show if no adjustment is made to your profile. Any polls reflect that time, plus or minus any adjustment made by the user. The default time zone has NO adjustment (per our settings in the control panel) so anyone not adjusting their profile by the correct number of hours will show a Pacific time. I'm not sure why the UBB programmers would choose to not allow editing (or the Shout box) to show the user's time setting but there is no option we can 'check' to force it. It will always show the server time when editing.
