I have to say, I thought the 52 #15 alternate ending was only half as good as the actual ending...

Jamie, lots of stuff you've mentioned could be coming into play!

Alan's eye, if gone through a boom tube, would be extremely large! (Good call, I'd forgotten that either Byrne or Simonson established that Boom Tube's shrink the New Gods, and they're actually quite large. Morrison is also very aware of this and expanded on it in his JLA run).

So when Alan's eye was blucked out during the Zeta Beam-Boom Tube thing...that would be pretty damn cool.

Really psyched to see more of the Emerald Eye of Ekron!

And dammit, I'm two weeks behind right now...

I like Buddy and Kori's conversation this issue...mostly because it proves that Morrison's run on Animal Man is in continuity.

Overall though, this issue didn't do much for me. The series shift in focus is starting to wear a bit thin.

And IIRC, didn't Luthor's League have codenames when Nat and Steel fought? I could swear that Nat called the big guy Herakles or something.

And the church? I'm think that this may turn out the be the same 'church' that will appear in the upcoming Mystery in Space.

Alan's Eye can't be the Emerals Eye of Ekron, unless there's a major retcon or time travel involved. Remember, it possesses the Beks in L.E.G.I.O.N. 15 years ago.

PUNCH! (We really need a Graemlin for the Superboy punches...)

Seriously though. I forgot all about the L.E.G.I.O.N appearances. Good point.

Wouldn't that be out of continuity now? That, to me, was the whole purpose of IC. Tossing out the stuff they think no one remembers or that they don't want to have to explain.

Been meaning to ask this one for a bit but has anyone else been following things on the 52 web site? There's a lot of interesting things out there.

First, in the stock ticker, there's the following entries:

Ajan Industries
Brande Industries
Allied Solar Enterprises
URANUS/GAEA Corporation
The Halo Corporation
Durden Demolition (Fight Club reference?)
Booster Gold, Inc
Hamilton Rifle Company
Dayton Industries
Quickstart Enterprises
Kordco
Acme
Galaxy Broadcasting
Sundollers
Wayne Enterprises
Van Horn Industries
Sivanna Industries
S.T.A.R. Labs
Akteon-Holt
Requiem Inc
Bug Bee Gone (Reference to Ted Kord?)
Pineapple Computer
LexCorp
Biosphere Tech
DC Comics
Vertigo Comics
CMX Manga
MAD Magazine
Wildstorm Comics

Besides the obvious ones, any ideas on some of these companys?

And speaking of Sundollers, they offer the following sizes:

Picayune
Milieu
Malocchio
Ego

I tried finding sun face history (as their logo just seems sinister) and the only reference I could find that seemed connected was to the Eygptian pharoh Akhenaten (Amonhotep). Oddly enough, there is a passage about Freud in his entry. I haven't read it all yet, tho.

Now on to Cadmus. "Nobody's Pefect.....Yet." That's pretty ominus considering the business they are in. Is there where Skeets brings Boosters DNA?

What about Prgogene Tech you say? We'll their ad says:

72% of the human body is water.
Humans require between 1 and 7 liters of water, per day.
The earth contains over 300 million, trillion gallons of water.

But the most important is that their ad tell us to "Think Globally".

There's a few more that I'll get to when I get time.

The Sun doller symbol looks like various medieval sun icons. I remember carving almost that exact patter for art class years ago when i did some stuff related to alchemy.

Also versions of the face in the sun are associated King Louis XIV of France.

Tamper,

Considering you can trace images of the sun throughout most of history, it's not really a surprise. I was wondering if this was a specific usage of this particular image and if there was a name for it.

Did you catch the Sundollar Coffee reference in the latest issue of LSH?

It's there!

The face in the sun has masonic implications, among other things.

I tend to doubt there's much more to the Sundollers symbol than the obvious parody of the Starbucks symbol, however.

EDE,

Thanks! I was too busy yesterday to look up most of these I didn't know.

Galaxy Broadcasting was originally from the Roy Raymond strip that ran as a backup in Detective. I think he was retconned into Ronnie Raymond's dad but the details are a little fuzzy.

I figured Akteon-Holt had something to do with Terrific but I had never heard it mentioned until 52.

I thought it odd that BGI went up two points after his death. wink

Actually, it's apparently only speculation that Akteon-Holt connects to Mr. T.

Well, it seems that Aktaeon was the grandon of Cadmus (founder of Thebes) in Greek Mythology. He was also turned into a stag for seeing Artemis in the buff.

Interesting.

Won't get my issue till tomorrow because of the holiday but I have seen some spoilers for this week (not from the previews) and then this just posted to Newsarama:

Week 19 cover

I want to yell "BOOYAH!" but after seeing said spoilers, I'm not sure how this will play out.

Even if it is entirely someone else?

I still think the original will be back but they are playing with a few possibilities in 52.

Hmmm after reading 18 its pretty clear who that new Booster might be. Now I'm all suspicious about what Skeets is up to.

The new guy in the suit might be a guy off the street at the funeral that Skeets identified as Booster's ancestor.
