I'm kidding. Even I love Mogo! He does kick ass! I remember when I was kid (was it Engleheart's GLCoprs?) I thought that was the coolest character ever.

Ralph just rocks. If they had to kill the character, this was a perfect way for him to go.

Montoya - gee, what a surprise, her destiny is to be the new Question. This needs to drag on for eight weeks plus? Just get the faceless mask on and get to Gotham to beat up on Intergang with Batwoman, already.

Looks like major Black Adam/Osiris action next week, plus space hero stuff.

One great thing about wrapping up a mystery is you go back and look at the clues you missed. I re-read issue # 1, and although I didn't see Ralph expressing a wish of any kind, I did see something that convinced me that <span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">Mister Mind is controlling Skeets.</span></span>

Here's what I saw:

Then, on page 17, we see Sivana being kidnapped by animal-men (who we now know are Intergang muscle) to bring him to Oolong Island, and Mister Mind is left behind in a cylinder. In the last panel of that page, Mind is seen staring at a TV showing the Superboy memorial service, and it's at that service, on pages 21-22, where we suddenly see Skeets malfunction and short out. Next time we see Skeets, he is feeding Booster bad advice. Coincidence? I think not.</span></span>

This was mostly the reveal of Ralph's story.

It was good to see him being the detective that we all know he is, and he's on the real sauce after all. Part of the fun of a good mystery is seeing the pieces put together. I think this was sort of ham handed tho'.

The Montoya bit seemed odd considering her appearance last issue.

Still, I'm reading it first every week.

FINALLY THE MEANING OF 52... So I've been pondering this for a while and then more sudden than a lightning strike I found out. I was paging through my e-mail when suddenly there the answer was before me. It is... the number of questions on my anthropology exam... now what about them apples.

Have I mentioned that there is only one animal that scares me more than sharks?

I think we now know where the 4th Horseman has been. Talk about a horrible way to go. I'm with you Eryk, sharks and...

And what exactly did those alien dudes do to Animal Man...

Poor, poor Osiris. But what a great twist by the writers! When Sobek was first introduced, a number of people prdeicted he would go bad, but I don't know anyone who called him being the fouth horseman.

I thought that whole "oh, Sobek" scene was a bit too cornball, but little did I know what they were setting us up for...

Buddy synching up with Sun-Eaters?? Very interesting...

I'm with Drake. We have this bad @ss version of the Marvel family with a talking alligator? Geez. But the alligator just got cool....though I did like Osiris.

I think they gave him a power boost. I got the impression that to reach the sun eaters he reached out to a longer distance than usual.


by the way, given the rather gruesome deaths and one birth we have seen this series, I can't begin to imagine how bad it will get when Black Adam faces the Four Horsemen.

Hmmm... yeah that makes sense. Before 52 I hadn't read anything about Animal Man so I'm not all that familiar with his powers and limitations and such...

I read the Morrison run an Animal Man and some more, but dropped the title after a little while.
Wasn't in 52 that we frist see Buddy go for alien animals. He was only orginally connected to the earth, and now he is connected to the whole glaxy!

Bring on Mystery in Space 2: Comet and Animal Man!

Week 44 is out and I'm very upset. I waited years to bring this character into the mainstream fold and now...gone.

I understand the purpose of it with a set up for WWIII but wish it didn't have to be this way.
