Considering what he's been doing the last few weeks his new magic word should be Za-MASH! wink

I think Quis might be right and the only wrap-up we'll still need to see is the space-heroes (particulurly Animal Man) and Booster/Rip/Skeets, as well as Morrow/Red Tornado/what they saw.

Steel, Montoya, Black Adam all appear to be wrapped up, though I hope we get at least one more Montoya/Batwoman scene. Agree with Blacula about Ralph.

All in all, I think 52 is still a success, although the WWIII aspect of it wasn't all *that* great. But I didn't really expect it to be too much more than it was, and am pleased with J'onn, Alan and a few other's roles. Kind of a weak attempt to show all the OYL changes though.

I never expected 52 to deal with the whole DCU and am glad it didn't. A much more powerful story was told for all the main characters, so for example, I don't mind that we never saw Firestorm and Cyborg fixed or Hawkgirl shrunken back down. That being said, there are some things I'm not too keen on in 52, like the above mentioned Ralph Dibny ending.

But now I'm ready to turn towards the Rip/Booster/'52' thing, which I've been waiting for more than anything else. I expect it will be more like a reveal that leads us into further stories rather than a conclusive ending, and I'm okay with that. I just hope the execution is good!

52 # 51 rocked, and so did the way 52 spilled over into the Legion's book this week. Awesome. It was good to see I was right in my Skeets guess.

Yeah it was good. A lot of people online saw the Skeets thing coming but it was still set up nicely.

The only thing i'm wondering about is that Buddy's wife was shown crying in a OYL book. (JLofA I think) He's back, is he dead next week? I hope not. The only other theory I have is that after a year with Kory they have a thing and he ditches his family. That's too out of character to consider.

So where do you think Skeets and Rip are going in next week's Jumbo Finale. I'm sure that we're going to the beginning of time. Hopefully we'll see Krona and the events of COIE in the background so they can explain the current DCU.

That would be cool. This issue was terrific and leaves a real cliffhanger for a change. Can't wait to see 52.

BTW, I think we saw Ellen crying in the issue of 52 where Buddy appeared to die in space, not in a OYL book. I got the impression at the time that she "felt" him die.

The scene in which Buddy saw future-Ellen crying was the scene in this issue just before he re-appeared.

I could of sworn it was a JLofA issue. But I could be wrong.

There was a JLofA issue where the Big 3 are talking about who to invite and while discussing Vixen they talk about how Buddy is more versatile. Wonder Woman then says "We need to visit Ellen" (or words to that effect).

I also really enjoyed this week and am looking forward to the conclusion with high excitement.

Okay so we get the WWIII wrap up, the space heroes return, and some Skeets time. And no one has anything to say?!?!?

It was nice seeing the Baker family reunion. Buddy has got to be the most normal metahuman. Take that Xavier!

The OYL service at the Superboy memorial was a great downtime scene. Bruce's comments to Clark didn't have that warm and fuzzy feeling we're suppose to be getting from Bats these days. Cassie and Donna's moment just points out how little Diana has done for Cassie since she became Wondergirl.

The big reveal has to have some folks yelling "I told ya so!" There's at least three different surprises folks have mention here that were revealed. Next week is going to be big.

Just spouting off.

Let's hope so. I can't help but feeling like it's not going to be worth all the buildup. I feel like we should've found out the meaning of "52" around issue 40 which would've kicked the rest of the series into high gear where all the various storylines tied together to build to a big climax. Having the very last issue deal with it seems like it'd be almost impossible to give a satisfying ending.

I'm curious as to how Doc Magnus missed what was going on with Skeets..."Booster, Skeets is just fine, assuming this gestating cocoon is normal for 24th century AI robots!"

Mr. Wanty...
I want full page pictures of, 1)Rip Hunter's chalkboard with explanations of all of the clues, and, 2)of the "garden" mapped out with details of the different worlds. Hey, Red Tornado has one, we should, too.

I don't know--I'm getting a general feeling of anticlimax at this point. It's been a long road to get to where we are, and the summation of everything is...Mr. Mind? I don't care how gross he looks...The Montoya/Question arc didn't really resolve in a way that was earthshattering or even much of a surprise. Hell, I can't even remember what happened to Ralph...While the Black Adam storyline has had some great moments, it apparently isn't even resolved in 52, and seems to me to be not much than a return to status quo. You and I both know that whenever someone wants to revive the character, they'll do exactly that with about two panels of explanation. Plus, all of the ground work for a character I have really grown to like (Black Adam) had already been laid in JSA, only to be tossed aside now. As for the space heroes, everybody coming home is a feel good ending, but what was the point of the whole subplot? Getting Lobo the Emerald Eye? If I wasn't a Legion fan, that would've resulted in a great big "So What?" from me.

I've really enjoyed the read for the most part, and I've really like the breadth and span of the series. I just don't know that the end rises to the standard of the series. I guess they've got one more issue to prove me wrong...and I hope they do. How they end this may have an effect on whether or not I pick up the new weekly series.

The only consistent feature of all of your dissatisfying relationships is you.

Don't judge me!

Hmm... I'll agree the series has been a bit anticlimatic in a lot of ways, but the last issue is pretty awesome!

Yeah - we basically know a lot of what was going ot happen or be revealed, but it was still well done.

I'm very happy to see The Question alive and well on Earth-4. I wonder if DC plans on doing series on these earths -- maybe one for each of the earths spotlighted?

Anyone recognize Earth-17? Is it from something or a teaser for something DC has in development?

I think Earth-17 is the Atomic Knights, which are from the Great Disaster timeline.

Waid\'s Newsarama 52 Exit Interview

Interesting. He gives us some clues on who write what. Not that we couldn't guess.

Grant did the mad scientist Dr. Magnus stuff. As well as the space Animal Man, Starfire, Adam Strange stuff.

Rucka did the Question stuff.

Geoff did the Black Adam/JSA stuff.

Waid seems to have done the Booster Gold? Metropolis? Steel stuff? Not sure. Maybe the Ralph stuff?

I'm very happy with the conclusion. Also sad that it's over. But...Countdown starts next week! I'm wondering if the scene with Ralph and Sue's "Ghosts" plays a part in Countdown. I'm betting it will.

I was wondering about that, too.
Also, I must have missed the issue where Ralph died. What happened?

Thanks.

I was amused to see the Wildstorm universe making an appearance as Earth 50.

I'm very pleased with the conclusion, overall. I never thought the Multiverse was as confusing or problematic as DC seemed to. It's a great storytelling device that they never should have done away with in the first place.

Jade was alive on Earth-2, didn't she die somewhere.

Who was the guy in the center of earth 4, was that the previous Beetle, cause that means Ted might still be alive , too.
