Okay, so I checked three comic shops and no one ordered it.
While the fans will love $0.99 reprint comics, I think I see where the problem lies. They don't make any money for the retailers, so they're not ordering any. The two shops I don't normally frequent didn't even order a single $0.99 title. One guy even chuckled when I asked him. My regular shop ordered only a few for the series that have gained a following (Walking Dead & Chew). So I picked up Chew #1 (which I need anyway), but that's it.
That's unfortunate because I think its a great idea. I also think its to the retailers benefit to get people to try a series out. I love comic book shops but sometimes they do things I can't stand and I think they do more harm than good in some cases. Too bad. I was really looking forward to reviewing Youngblood #1!
Maybe when I pull out the next batch of back issues at my parent's house, I'll try to find the 90's Image box. Then I can review such classics as Bloodstryke #1 and Darker Image #3.
