Okay, I'm sure it was just a coincidence, but that was the name of a guy who had a very bad audition. Does anyone know what the fantastic comic book artist Pacheo looks like? If you have a picture, could you post it? I'd love to know if it was him. I doubt it. But who knows?
Does anyone watch AI? The singer in me loves the darn show...

Ha ha I saw that! I was watching bits of Smallville, Apprentice, and AI all at the same time but I did manage to catch Carlos singing badly. I've never watched a full episode of AI - do they have age limits or whatever? I wonder how old the comic drawin' Carlos is...

I noticed that too, Dean... I'm really wondering if it was him!
I never watched AI before this season and I was INSTANTLY hooked from the first 10 minutes of episode 1!
I'm always so happy (for them) when someone makes it through...!

Carlos lives in a small village in Spain, and he's at least in his thirties. Sorry, guys.

I felt bad for that kid who did "She Bangs" -- but at least he was upbeat about the whole thing, and didn't go off whining or griping. I think he probably realized that, although he really wanted to sing, he didn't really have the talent for it.

Heh - I've seen a total of 15 minutes of American Idol, and the Carlos Pacheco moment was one of them... Freaky. It's like I knew there would be comic-book related stuff on the tube or something geeky like that...

Forget about Carlos. What about Diana Degarmo from Georgia? Anyone else recognize the last name? Got anything to tell us Kid Prime?

He's a civ engineer from my alma mater! Ha ha ha, I think he's the most famous student there, at least for a coupla days. Johnny Moseley is a freshman there now after all...

did you listen to him before he sang, he was saying that he was a big fan of music which people find strange because he's a civ engineer. HUH?? what does that mean?

I don't remember what he said exactly but maybe its cause engineers (ME, Civ, Electrical, etc.) at Berkeley have a tendency for being overly focused on all things engineering (i.e. not Ricky Martin songs). Interestingly, the population of Berkeley engineers is also disproportionately populated with Asian Males who sing badly. Hmm...

i thought all asians loved music, thats why bands that were once populer go over to japan and other asian countries because the asians are transfixed on what was once populer. I find his statement kinda ridiculous, funny but ridiculous.

That kid has got to be the most popular of the "bad" auditions, this year! The way he did his arm movements in time with the outta tune "SHE BANGS SHE BANGS!" SO FUNNY! THEN, he confesses to never having any musical training! Such innocence is priceless!

I'm REALLY enjoying AMERICAN IDOL!
Okay, it shouldn't surprise anyone that I love "SCOOTER GIRL" because, well, she's cute as heck but most importantly FUNNY and full of personality! Simon had a valid point though-- is she a good singer who's funny or a comedian with a nice voice? Also, the chick who called Simon gay most DEFinitely had the best originally-written song of the ones I heard. Good stuff. Simon TOLD her to come back as a bitch, didn't he? She did as he said to do.
On the guy's side, I was glad the red-headed guy made it through. Though he forgot his original song, the melody of the 2 lines he remembered was VERY different from the norm and I quite liked it. The model guy is hyper-cute but he's GOT to be making it through on 80% looks.

Really? That's so cool! Now there is a reason to watch the show. And I have someone to cheer for.

I honestly don't know her well at all. Messy divorce thing. I might have seen her 5 times in the past 15 years.
Still, I know she's talented and beautiful. I can't believe I haven't been watching this show now. (I also can't believe no one from my family has told me about this, but it just goes to show you how estranged we are.)

So Diana made it to the final 32! And she'll be on the first show of eight performers next week. We all need to vote for her.

I dunno. With the dumping of Scootergirl from the show and not allowing her to make the top 32, I think Simon & Co. have lost some credibility with me...

Yeay, I really expected her to make it through to the next round. And that 16 year old red head, I expected him to be dropped. I didn't care for any of his performances.

See, though, the redheaded boy is the guy I'm cheering for, so I'm glad he made it. I *did* expect him to be dropped, though.
With Scootergirl gone, I think I'll be transferring my femme-affection to that purple-haired chick. She's good.

Like 'em young do you Lash? I'm going to cheer for Jeff's cousin Diana. Her and Brie, the skinny, spiky-haired girl. I like her.
