I'm still amazed that I didn't know about this. Of course, her #!+@# of a mother and "manager" hasn't really let her interact with any of the DeGarmos since her divorce from my uncle (and Diana was only like 2 at the time.) And she's like half my age. So I don't really know her at all. I guess if she does well, I'll get to know her along with everyone else in America.

Kinda makes me think.

Here's a webpage that features Jeff's cousin and the other seven contestants that will square off next week!

And here's Diana's personal page .

Her favorite male pop artist is Justin Timberlake, and her favorite female pop artist is Celine Dion. And she traveled all the way to Hawaii to audition! eek

I watched almost every episode of AI last season, taping the ones I couldn't be home to see. This year, I've decided to not be so indulgent. If I'm home and there's nothing else going on, I'll watch. I've already missed a couple of episodes. I do really like the show, though, and look forward to the upcoming performances I get to see.

Congrats and good luck to your family KP!

Will Hung, the guy who did "She Bangs," now has his own website !

He's appeared in US Weekly, the L.A. Times, and will be on Entertainment Tonight tomorrow night as well. I guess not making it on American Idol was the best thing ever to happen to him! wink

I especially liked all the remixes of his version of "She Bangs" (especially the one with the Devastator sound bite from the Transformers TV show)...

Well, I caught Diana tonight on AI.

Wow! She's a little ball of energy for 16!

I'll be voting, but that goes without saying. I hope she goes on!

Diana Degarmo WAS quite good! Her name just SOUNDS like a star, doesn't it?

I was impressed with ALL the ladies tonight. The guys... well, they were all kinda cookie-cutter to me.

I'd have an impossible time choosing between Diana, Fantasia, the "Crazy" girl, the "Imagine" girl and the "Wam, Bam Alakazam" girl.... they were all so good.

Diana all the way! We still have 15 minutes to go here but most of the others didn't even come close to matching Diana's performance. All very bland and I have to agree with the judges in that they picked songs that were 'safe'. I mean, Wind Beneath My Wings? Give me a break.

Diana was FANTASTIC.

And all three of the judges LOVED her! That's pretty rare. I hope she'll be voted on to the next round, but even if she isn't, I think the judges will really try to push her through to the top 10 as a wild card. (Wasn't Clay and/or Kelly a wild card?)

GO DIANA! cool

After having seen the whole episode, I gotta say -- as a whole, this was a talented group. I'd be surprised if the other three groups were uniformly this good.

I think Diana and Fantasia are clearly the ones who deserve to go to the next round, and maybe one or two of the others as wild cards. Almost everyone had a great voice, but a lot of the others just didn't have that indefinable "star" quality, because they were bland in either their choice of songs, their singing style, or just their overall presentation.

The guy on E! just predicted that Diana and Fantasia would advance forward and that the "Wam Bam Alakazam" girl would be brought back as a Wild Card.

He also agreed with me that the ladies were HOT and the guys were definitely NOT.

Just over an hour until I find out who America chose...!

BRING BACK SCOOTERGIRL!!!!!!

And, hello...? Did that guy make it through to 3rd place on his looks because no WAY was he better than ANY of the ladies.

*uuuggh!* Tonight's episode was pretty painful. I was thoroughly unimpressed with MOST of the singers.

One of my picks from the get-go was the first performer, the big football-player guy. Loved his voice.

My second pick... I dunno. A tossup between the redheaded girl who sang Mary J. Blige or the Hawaiian girl.

The football player guy is the ONLY one of the eight tonight whom I can honestly say I flat-out liked.

"Rose Bowl Guy" has a nice voice, but... is it just me, or does he look like he's about 10 years older than he says he is?!

This week's group was HORRIBLE overall. It irritates me that those two brothers even got in. They totally robbed two deserving people of their spots. Hopefully, American Idol has learned their lesson and will never go for nepotism again.

Sure does help Diana, though!

This show seemed like it belonged on next Monday's special of rejects. Matthew, the first one to perform was someone I like originally, as was Brie. I think they both sold out their musical integrity to try and please the judges, neither of them performing their kind of music.

And I'm in agreement over the brothers. They had no talent and should not have made it this far. I would have much rather seen Scootergirl make it. Too bad she can't be chosen for a wildcard position. Its obvious none of last night's performers derserves a slot.

She CAN'T? But Ryan Seacrest said that for the Wildcard show, ANYone from ANY point of the show could be brought back... I'm looking for her to be one...

But any point of the show is suppose to mean any of the 32 contestants who made it to the final rounds of chosing the top 12, like we are doing now. All the shows before last week are just fodder for ratings. We'll not see them again except in specials like the one this coming Monday or if they try out again next year.

At least that's the way it work last season.
