Voting is free.

George's ridiculous and annoying boucning up and down is whatkeeps him from getting my full support.

I myself have decided to throw my support behind JASMINE for the incredibly classy and touching show of support she gave Camile after she was voted out. "The hug heard 'round the world"!

I can't remember the last time I was so moved. And she's no slouch in the voice department either.

YAY JASMINE!!!!! and GOOD LUCK CAMILE, I'll miss you!

I missed the performances but saw the elimination show... It does seem right that Camile should go. It's weird the way they did the three groups thing. I don't think I like knowing the standings. Jasmin's performance on Wednesday seemed good to me. I suppose if it was pitchier on Tuesday, it could be rough to listen to... Tamyra's song was nice.

This year, I watch the show when I can, but I don't re-arrange my schedule for it, and I don't ask my family to tape it for me.

I just read an article in a local paper about Kelly Clarkson and Clay Aiken's tour. The writer pretty much slammed them as being irrelevant. I had a problem with that train of thought. I think that a singing contest like AI, which breeds new pop stars is perfectly relevant in today's society. The songs done throughout the competition generally bring about feelings of nostalgia. Sometimes the new renditions of them can revitalize the song, like Clay's "Bridge over Troubled Waters." I'd forgotten how much I liked that song. I've always liked pop music. A vocal minority always seems ready to pounce upon the biggest stars of pop. I suppose it's part of the package.

hmm. That writer needs a reality check.

How can Kelly and Clay (or ANY of them really) be "irrelevant" with the millions of fans they have...? AI is one of (if not THE) most-watched shows on TV.

I don't think their contracts with AI leave much room for them to do their own songs yet, but that time will come (IF they are indeed capable of writing their own songs).

Here, I'm not hearing any Clay but Kelly's song MISS INDEPENDENT is getting heavy airplay.

So depsite what that writer says, I'll make sure I'm watching Tues & Weds night!

There's been a lot of talk about the President pre-empting AI tonight! I'll be at work, so I'm missing all of it, but I do think it's funny that so many people seem bummed that they have to watch the President instead of Idol! Yikes!

Yeah, Lash, I'd thought about writing a letter to the person who wrote that article, but as I composed it in my mind, I made peace with the whole thing and felt done with it.

Kelly at least co-wrote some of the songs on her album. I don't know about Clay.

Guess I'll be skipping SURVIVOR this week! (I've missed the last few eps anyway, although I've been keeping up with it; I know Jerri & Lex have gone bye-bye...)

AI has my primary TV love! All else is secondary!

To me it would only be a problem if it was the competition portion. The results show is too drawn out. I'm so tired of Seacrest and his "Right after this message" crap. They take what should be 15 minutes and stretch it into an hour.

And I always wonder why, when its the person who got the least amount of votes, we would want to hear them sing again? I mean, isn't that why they are being kicked off? Because we didn't want to hear them to begin with? I think the top vote getter should be the one who gets to do their song again. Rub it in the loser's face. Hey, life is tough.

I think the idea is to give the loser a final chance to sing for their fans, which is nice.

I'm a bit concerned about tonight's results show...

I thought EVERYone did well last night-- yes, even red-headed John Stevens-- with George giving the weakest performance of the gang.

But he's gotten consistently better each week (with the exception of last night) and has never been in bottom 3, so he'll be fine tonight.

I have a bad feeling either Diana or Jasmine is going home tonight... if it's one of the power-divas, it'll be Jennifer...

(I don't even consider John S or JPL candidates for going home this week-- despite several "iffy" -- and in the case of John S, downright terrible-- performances, neither has ever been bottom 3 and both were "ON" last night)

It will be interesting to see who is in bottom 3 tonight... (I figure Diana, Jasmine and...? WHO ?)

ps/ I thought Quentin Tarentino came off like a Simon-wannabee dickhead, being unneccesarily harsh to those he didn't like (to Diana: "So you hit all the notes, so what?") and gushing over those he favors despite a lesser-than-usual performance (to George: "You made me forget I hate that song!")

I hope you're wrong Lash and we've seen the last of either John.

I agree that was George's weakest performanace. And is it me or do these kids seem to take slow songs and make them even slower? He need to be a little more up tempo on it.

I think now that either Fantasia or Latoya will win. After their performances last night they appear to be the most deserving and the most ready for it. George is still my pick to round out the final three. Sorry, but Diana has started to show she needs some more time being a kid first. Too many children this year on the show. Maybe they need to raise the age limit for eligibility.

I absolutely agree the minimum age limit should be RAISED to 18 for AI.

The bottom 3 were called out--

Diana, JPL and John Stevens. This marked the first appearance for both JPL and John S in the bottom 3, and was Diana's third appearance in the bottom.

So I was a bit surprised when Diana was sent back to the couch and safety, leaving either JPL or John S to go home!

Turns out JPL got the lowest votes last night.

He really cut up tonight doing 'Jailhouse Rock', and sang it among the audience. He had 'em revved up.

I'm floored that: a) Diana didn't go home (I'm glad she's still there) and b) John S outlasted JPL

Is there NO getting rid of carrot top???

You know what happened don't you? His Mormon voting block was confused by the move to Wednesday and didn't call in to support him. He's the only one our Fox channel would talk about.

Dang, I wish I could have seen Fantasia's performance. Anyone got link? I think my brother taped it...

My son always laughs at JPL when he performs, so I can never hear him anyway. The hobbit comparison has been going on in our house for a long time. The Norwegian guy from World Idol looked like JPL, like a hobbit. He won the title. I wonder if we Americans were sorta keeping JPL in there for this long in order to somewhat emulate that?

Argh I missed it!?! I saw Mamma Mia so I guess I traded one performance for another. Its funny though, I thought the Johns were much more deserving to go in previous weeks - I thought JPL was okay (dancing excluded) and pasty John was fine cause he was doing his thing. Is it just me or does pasty John look like he's gonna cry during every results show?

I think this was Diana's worst performance - I kept cringing when she hit the notes off key. Jasmine hasn't been wowing me lately but I think someone said it best when they suggested that she'll get more of the Hawaiian votes now that that other girl is gone...

There's a yahoo group that has links to the AI3 performance mp3's but they're only up to date to the Elton John night. That was last week, right? I'm sure they'll be getting the movie music ones up there, soon. I'll post the link when I go there again.... It was cool to get to listen to some of the performances I'd missed. I was also very impressed with Clay's "Solitaire."

I don't think Diana was off-key, not to my ears at least. But I did despise her choice of song.

Remember how awesome she was doing Aretha's "Think"...? She needs to get back to something like that!

They all need to be a little more upbeat. What was it that Quentin said to Fantasia? He wants to hear her rock again? I'm so tired of slow songs I could puke.

I never watched seasons 1 or 2, what other theme days are there? Were they the same for season 1 and 2? I'd love to see an 80s new wave episode or a perhaps an opera episode. kidding. mostly.

I'd **LOVE** a 70s OR 80s night, myself! Alas, next week is... Barry Manilow night. *sigh*

This is my first season for AI too, so I dunno what previous seasons theme nights were...
