This is, it turns out, incorrect! He actually WON on Elimidate. Apparently you can download the episode.

There are a lot of Kelly Clarkson yahoogroups that have mp3's, but I found a fairly complete set of songs at www.idolexperience.com

I think they're missing her performance of "Think Twice" which is *brilliant.* I'm with you, too. I've learned all kinds of songs by watching AI that I never knew before.

I've been away from home since last Saturday, but I was visiting with the in-laws on Tuesday. We were playing dominoes in the dining room, but I had Idol on in the living room. I got to hear the performances pretty well, and take a peek sometimes...

8. Scott. I've liked his voice in the past, I just thought he was really shouting this song out. I don't like being yelled at.

7. Carrie. From the other room, I thought she was screaming, too. From Pat Benatar, that's cool, not from Carrie.

6. Bo. It wasn't really bad, it's just that that song is golden, shouldn't be touched unless touched really REALLY well. I thought he was okay.

5. Anthony. Cool! A song that works for him. I thought he'd been losing it around here.

4. Vonzell. A fun song, that brings back memories for me. I was a senior in high school that year!

3. Anwar. I like the song a LOT and it worked for him.

2. Nadia. I'm such a fan of hers, it's hard for me to not rate her highly.

1. Constantine. I couldn't believe he pulled it off. In fact, I think I've said that before about him. He's really working it!!

The results show....

Well, I'm bummed. I love me some Nadia, so the show is just not going to be the same without her. I wonder what they'll have her do in the finale? (I'm already thinking about the finale; that's telling....)

I loved Bo's attitude about winning or losing! That's awesome. SO rock and roll!

I wish it was Scott who was voted off.

You're kidding me right? Nadia? Jeez, I thought this year was going to be great during the first few rounds before we got to the final twelve and so far it's just got suckier and suckier each week. Why on earth Scott and Anthony are still there when Nadia has gone is beyond me. Carrie is probably the best singer in the bunch but she lacks personality on stage and Bo is consistently lovely and great but has picked some pretty tedious songs the last couple of weeks. Vonzell could be great, but I still feel she doesn't have that extra something to make her unique. Nadia was the only other one who I really liked, and she's gone?

Ugh.

I'm nearly as annoyed as I was when Jennifer went last year (final three shoulda been Jennifer, Fantasia and Diana) but unlike last year where halfway through pretty much everyone left was damn good this year I'm just not feeling it. I don't get the Idol vibe from any of them, apart from maybe Bo but if he does win I can see him going off and doing his own thing which might mean that he'll have a Tori Amos career (as in very sucessful at what they do but not commericaly sucessful in terms of things like singles). That'd probably be a good thing for him, but it's hardly 'American Idol', is it?

And the judges are full of bullshit when they say, "be original, take a risk" because the moment someone does just that, they're told they need to go home. Me, I'll be watching and waiting on ANY news re: Nadia Turner. And if you thought I loved her version of "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me" before, well... she freaking BLEW ME AWAY
with it tonight. MAD STUPID AWESOME. I adore her.

My Mother was in tears and I was in a state of shock. But we aren't worried. Girlfriend's a STAR, baby-- TRUST.

I'm going to continue watching but my excitement is severly lessened.

I'm just praying ANYONE-- even "Slappy"-- beats out Simon's precious little Carrie for the title.
Let's get tickets to Nadia's first concert - wherever it is, I'll fly there. I hope she gets a contract real soon, independent of American Idol.

Guess "God's Plan" for Nadia was for her to come in 8th!

While I wasn't a fan, I do admire the fact that she didn't try to pander by only singing "hits".

Good lord, I read on some gossip site that Nadia and SCOTT SAVOL are maybe dating? Nooooooo.....

Carrie was wearing a "Vegetarian" tee shirt in one of those clips! I MUST vote for her now. Gotta support my fellow non-flesh eaters.

Hey SKETCH, thanks for the link to mp3's!!!

I *still* listen to Kelly Clarkson's mp3's from when she was on the show. I just collected all of Nadia's performances, so I think I'll make a cd out of them and listen to them whenever I want.

My latest song addiction is the big upcoming single "When You Tell Me That You Love Me." I did a little research.... It was originally done by Diana Ross in 1991. Then, it was covered by Dolly Parton and Julio Iglesias! Sounds great by all of them. Both Anthony and Jessica sang it during the Hollywood rounds, they both sounded great. The song will be on an upcoming cd by someone named Michael Ball. I'd never heard of him, so I did some research on him. He's a British man, who's been performing for over 20 years. I think he was in Phantom of the Opera. The bulk of his songs seem to be from Broadway, but he also covers pop hits. I'm not sure what I think of him, but I have to admit that I like his song choices, even some of the cheesier stuff like this 40 something year old man doing Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff." I can be cheesy, though. Does Michael Ball ring a bell with anyone?

Anyway, this is what AI does to me. I get to like a song I previously didn't know, which leads me to find other versions of it, which leads me to artists I never knew before. Ah, the internet!

Michael Ball is one of the biggest musical stars here in the UK. Considered one of the definative Phantoms and has also been in the original staging of a lot of Lloyd Webber musicals. He was also the original Professor Potts in the musical version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. He's a *big* name here in the UK.

All that being said I think he's shite and would rather listen to fingernails on a blackboard than listen to him making every song sound so utterly bland that your ears start to bleed.

I designed a cd cover and created an 11 song playlist for a Nadia cd. The only problem is, even though there are TONS of cd's all over my office, NONE of them are blank, so I can't burn the cd! Off to the store...

I dont't think anyone should ever sing "Hot Stuff", except a bona fide diva, and she must -- absolutely must --- appear totally disinterested when performing that number for it to work. Otherwise, it is indeed cheesey. smile

Semi, for REAL, I wanna see Nadia! I figure because she placed low and torqued off the AI brass, she'll be "let go" when her contract expires after the summer Season 4 tour, so any record deal SHE IS SURE TO GET will certainly be outside AI. GOOD, I say!

Jackie, don't believe the Tabloids! They could snap a picture of me and my MOM while we are out shopping and try to make it something it isn't. I believe Nadia was very well-liked and can see her & Scott being pals what with the religious beliefs and all.

My kids were ga-ga over that song last summer! It's so funny that that Gary kid made that home video of it, and has become so popular on the internet with it. Even funnier to have it made into an American Idol toon!

I agree, Lash. Her song choices were pretty cool, across the board. She'll be fine. She's a star.

Goddamnit! We had no sound for Constantine's entire performance. Didn't get it back until Ryan was talking to him. Was he any good?
