"How Do I Live Without You?" would probably be a really hard song to sing if you were feeling emotional about the loss of anyone, even a family pet. The title alone is enough to make someone more sensitive than they might normally be.

This is the lineup I hope for...
4. Anthony
3. Carrie
2. Vonzell
1. Bo

This is what I dare think might happen...
4. Vonzell
3. Anthony
2. Bo
1. Carrie

Anything else will be a total surprise to my lil head.

So who got their plane ticket home? I didn't get home from work until 8:15 and it was after 8:30 when I realized the TiVo didn't tape the results show tonight because Lost ran long.

after watching the first auditions of the final four, Bo and Carrie get sent back. Vonzell and Anthony are the two. And in the end Anthony goes home. It was kinda sad, you can see that Anfed was clearly dissapointed. Carrie was on the sideline crying.

I MISSED IT AGAIN!!

I'll miss Anthony, even though I knew it would be either him or Vonzell. If Vonzell isn't out next week, I'll be FLOORED.

I saw the whole thing...it was cool that they showed Bo's previously never aired audition. He said that he wanted to be the next American Idol because he thought the show had never had an infusion of "rockstar." So far it seems like he's right. People (including me) love him!

As for Anthony, well, I've liked most of his performances and haven't liked some. I guess it was hard for me to believe that he outlasted Nadia and Constantine. Oh well, I'm happy with the final 3.

GO BO!!!

Well I'm very pleased that Vonzell has made it to the final three. I don't think she's going to stay next week, but to get this far she's done herself proud. Kinda funny that with all the guff about the boys being so much better than the girls this year two of the final three are girls.

Anthony is no great loss in my book. Sure he can sing but he's never really grabbed me in the way that some of the other finalists have. He's just a bit bland for my tastes.

The thing is, most of the girls weren't very strong competitors. Lindsey and Jessica were both cute and talented, but not very interesting. Mikala was cute and interesting but she bordered on annoying and couldn't seem to be sure to have strong vocals. Nadia, who I LOVE, didn't appeal to the masses. She picked songs that weren't always contest-friendly. Also, I happen to love her voice, but she can't always carry those giant power notes. So that leaves Carrie and Vonzell. Carrie was a favorite from the beginning, so it's no surprise that she's there. Vonzell is a surprise. She had some great performances along the way and she is extremely attractive. You know that matters.

On the flip side, the guys kinda fell apart, too. First of all, Mario dropped out. I'm sure he would have come very far if he'd stayed in. Nikko was just a replacement and was doomed to not do well. Anwar seemed like a contender, but he consistently did the "shaky start/finish big" routine, and it didn't serve him well. Constantine seemed like a star, but his posturing and posing and pouting was too cheesy, exposing him as not-such-a-rocker. Scott has a lot of unappealing qualities already, but his good voice served him well. The scandal about his arrest record didn't help him and his "underdog" status couldn't hold out. This leaves Anthony and Bo. Anthony's a kid with a dream. He was meant for third or fourth place. He got fourth. Honestly, it's hard for me to be objective about Bo. I'm too much of a fan. I think he deserves to win.

I do think Vonzell will go next, putting Carrie and Bo in the final. I hope Bo wins, but we'll see....

Heh, Bevis, I just read one of your reviews from way back in March. Very early on, you had a very good idea of what was happening. I think the only one you were wrong about was Vonzell. You thought she'd be an "early casualty." It's always funny to look back on these threads.

Well I think Vonzell has really grown throughout the competition and definitely deserves to be in the final 3. I also think she'd be a better adversary than Carrie for Bo. She's got looks, personality and talent. Carrie has the better voice but it starts and ends there, so I think Vonzell and Bo would be a better finale, clash of the entertainers.

In the end it's Bo's contest hands down, Vonzell would just make it more interesting, but Bo's walking away with this and probably has been for some time.

I hope so, BWB! However, Carrie does seem to have a lot of fans. I agree with you about Vonzell's growth, too. It's been a great season.

If Mario had stayed in, I have no doubt he would be alongside Bo & Carrie in the final three. I also think Nadia would have lasted longer (at least 1 to 3 weeks longer) had he not departed.

Nadia not being big on the power-noting was a plus in my book.

BTW, the track list for the Season 4 AI CD has been released... it's called SHOWSTOPPERS, featuring each of the top 12's "showstopping" performances. Poor Lindsey was stuck with "Knock on Wood", her only performance in the top 12.
Nadia is, of course, doing "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me". Anthony's doing "Every Time You Go Away" and Connie's doing "My Funny Valentine".

Available 5/17. I'll be getting it, will you?

Heh...I'm listening to Bo's "Great Day to Be Alive" right now. It's not only not boring, it's really charming and it has a really good message about appreciating life. Also, I watched The Apprentice tonight, and paid attention to the theme song, and of course, I was thinking that Bo did a WAY better job on it than the original! Trump should hire Bo!

Rest assured, I shall!

I hope it's better than the AI3 CD which-- despite Camillie's excellent version of "Until You Come Back To Me"-- was a bit of a dissapointment. I mean, I *love* Camille, but should she have had the best song on the album?

Fantasia did "Chain of Fools" on that, right? I quite liked her version of that song. What did Latoya and Jennifer do?

Seriously, Fantasia and Latoya stand out as my favorites from AI3.

Just went to a site that offers previews from the album. Latoya did "If You Don't Know Me By Now." Gosh, she should have given Carrie and Anthony a lesson on how to do that song.

Ulp! Already forgot the name of the song Jennifer did! I do recall that she sounded good.

I agree with you about the quality of Camille's voice, Lash. There are a LOT of songs I'd like to hear her sing. The problem is, I recall she always seemed so nervous that her voice shook too much, when she was on the show.

I think the problem with the AI3 album is that most of it sounds pretty amaturish. The original artists who did those songs are icons, so to attempt to cover them is almost silly.

Yes, I hope this "showstoppers" album is better.

Went and snagged the playlist. Here's my commentary on the choices....

1. Independence Day - Carrie Underwood
At first I thought they should have picked "Alone" but ID is more of a country song, for Carrie.

2. I Don't Want to Be - Bo Bice
I was wondering what they'd use for Bo, and I'm glad they chose this one. It pretty much sums him up!

3. Best of My Love - Vonzell Solomon
This is a good choice for her. I also liked her version of the Whitney song, "I Have Nothing."

4. House Is Not a Home - Anwar Robinson
Oh, they totally should have used "Moon River!"

5. You Don't Have to Say You Love Me - Nadia Turner
Perfect!

6. Part-Time Lover - Nikko Smith
Whatever. Don't care.

7. My Funny Valentine - Constantine Maroulis
He really did this one well.

8. Total Eclipse of the Heart - Jessica Sierra
Not my personal favorite, but I know people really liked this by her.

9. Everytime You Go Away - Anthony Fedorov
Honestly, I'd have to scroll through the list of songs he did to choose my favorite. I guess that means I don't think of him as ever really "stopping the show."

10. Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now) - Scott Soval
Nope. Don't like.

11. Knock on Wood
Poor Lindsey didn't even get her name on the list on the site where I snagged this.

12. God Bless the Child - Mikalah Gordon
I don't remember this, really. There have been so many great versions of this song. Can she compete?

13. When You Tell Me That You Love Me
I do think this song is quite nice. I actually prefer Vonzell's solo performance.

This album could actually be pretty good, overall!

re: the AI3 Jennifer song, it was "Neither One of Us" (wants to be the first to say goodbye), which was a good pick for her and is right after Camille's song as my next fave on he CD. It's hard to top Simply Red's version of "If You Don't Know Me..." but Latoya does it well.

re: S4, I think the cd is going to be pretty good and for nothing else it will be worth it (to me) for Nadia's full version of that song. She made it her own!

I just watched. I have to say that everyone rawked!

Seriously VONZELL, BO, & CARRIE totally went for it and all of them did a great a job.

The best for the night was BO.

Started with Elton John's Don't Let the Sun go down on me and ended with Can't Go No Staisfication and in the middle was what won him tonight and this contest. A totally acapella performance of some song I don't even know. He bought it tonight and was awesome. Singly one of the best AI performances ever!

Work is still hell, didn't get home til well after the show, but my Mom agrees, Vu. She said tonight was the "best of the best", and LOVED Bo.

Bo indeed was the best. So far, though, I've only been able to log two votes for him. Been dialing constantly since 7:59. Got through the first time and the third or fourth. Nothing since.
