Overall, this is a pretty mellow crowd of girls. I mean, I like many of them, but we don't seem to have a real "And I am Telling You I'm Not Going" type.

I really liked Crystal's performance. Consistent with her overall "package."

I wasn't sure about Lilly's rendition of Patsy Cline. Therefore, I must not like it. I think Lilly and DiDi sound a lot alike. I normally really like Lilly.

Siobahn was pretty dang good. I didn't like her at first, but I'm really getting to like her.

I was really liking Katelyn, but man, she blew it with that Carole King song. Blah!

I think Lacey's cute and all, but I just can't see her winning this thing. Then again, I never imagined Kris Allen could win....

Gawd. If I never hear a man singing Kate Bush's most beautiful song EVER again it will be too soon.

Right now I'm too pissed off to even comment further.

None of the guys' performances worked for me, not even my beloved Casey, who once again suffered from bad song choice and by-the-numbers performance.

I did think Lee's huffingly-puffingly earnest performance of that awful "Fireflies" song was unintentionally hilarious, though.

Right there with ya Lash. I did NOT understand the tongue bath "Big Mike" got from the judges.

Y'know how they're always saying "ooooh, Whitney, Mariah, Michael-- those singers' songs are untouchable+! Well I personally think Kate Bush is the untouchable one.

(Yes I know Maxwell redid "This Woman's Work" years ago but at least he did keep it in Kate's eerie style and didn't turn it into a freakin' soul jam)

Paige and Katie? puke is right!

I liked Lilly and Katelyn so much better than either of them.
sigh

Alex shouldn't have gone either.
We're probably seeing the influence of the anti Idol group with Tim being there over Alex.
frown

I like Tim as a person, he's humble and tries very hard.
But Alex is a wonderfully unique talent who could have really benefitted from the experience.

Do people ever think of the consequences of their actions?!

Sad.

At the risk of seeming uncool, Big Mike's performance was really the only one I liked from the guys. I liked it a lot! I have to be honest, I didn't know the song before. I youtubed Kate Bush and Maxwell after reading the comments here. It is a beautiful song - every version.

When I was a kid in the 70's, living in Australia, Kate Bush's "Wuthering Heights" was the #1 song for weeks and weeks and I really loved it. Then, I loved her duet with Peter Gabriel. Otherwise, I haven't followed her career much. I know "Running down that hill."

I need to add my barfing Drura to the list regarding the female eliminations. BOO!!!!

Toddrick was too "all over the place" even though he can sing and someone on the list wasn't as good as Alex. I don't know who. I liked Tim Urban's "Hallelujah."

So, what's done is done. I'm NOT looking forward to Rolling Stones night. Maybe Crystal will do something I like. Maybe Casey. We'll see.

Wuthering Heights is another magnificent Kate Bush song, though I was first exposed to the Pat Benatar version, which is also quite good!

I don't think I have heard the Pat Benatar version... I'm going to go look for it now.

And I agree... Paige and Katie should have gone way before Lilly or Katelyn.

I'm not as upset with the guy eliminations, although I still hated Michael Lynch's version of that song. I don't have the same love for him a lot of people do, and would have been happy to see him go home. However a lot of people seemed to love him doing that song.

I'm just happy Lee is still there.

Lacey HAS TO DO "Ruby Tuesday"!!

Casey HAS TO DO "Wild Horses"!!

And, Sketchy, Kate Bush's entire catalog is worth owning and relatively small thanks to her time-consuming perfectionism.

Quite of bit of step-uppage tonight.

Tonight was the most I've ever liked Aaron and Lee.

I *LOVED* Paige on "Honky Tonk WOman".

Enjoyed Casey as usual.

Siobhan is kind-of awesome, really.

Crystal and Lacey remain my favorites, and I'm going to vote for them... Done. 3 times for Lacey and 1 time for MamaSox.

Okay, not reading any other comments as I post mine....

I was dreading the idea of the Rolling Stones' songs on Idol, but overall, it wasn't as bad as I feared. Most of the contestants this season are kinda chill singer/songwriter types, which I appreciate, but it isn't my #1 favorite type of music. Maybe that's why nothing really *offended* me tonight.

Least favorite to most favorite...

12. Tim - horrible interpretation
11. Casey - not bad really, just boring
10. Paige - almost good, not a fan of her
9. Michael - didn't work for me, but I like him
8. Andrew - almost good, I wish he was doing better
7. Katie - forgettable, but well done
6. Didi - good
5. Lee - good, but I wish he would have cut loose a little bit more
4. Lacey - I developed a crush on her tonight!
3. Crystal - love her, this was pretty good
2. Aaron - I'm surprised I liked it that much!
1. Siobahn - I love the kind of drama she brought to the performance! She looked awesomely awesome, too.

I feel a little bad, here.
I am almost an anti-fan of the Rolling Stones.
I've always been that way, right back to the Beatles time.
Then, it seemed like people were either for the Beatles or for the Rolling Stones, and for me that attitude has carried over to today.

So, I was generally not aware the songs as 'bad or good' interpretations and I fell asleep during Paige, so I missed Crystal.

Sioban was my favorite, although the song didn't make much sense to me.
Sometimes I didn't know what she3 was saying and sometimes what she said just didn't make sense.
But, I loved her performance.
sigh

I was mostly bored, I'm afraid.
sorry

I am really angry right now.

Lacey's performance last night was disappointing, yes, but it was not the worst of the night. Tim, Mike, and Andrew were all much worse!

There's a terrible irony that a fresh female talent like Lacey gets the carpet pulled out from under her while music-biz whores like Ke$ha and Ornilanthi get the major label push.

Sigh sigh

On a positive note, I enjoyed a lot of the performances last night.

Now that Lacey is out, DiDi is my new favorite. She finally clicked last night. I also surprsingly liked Katie, Crystal, and Lee, the last of whom sang one of my favorite Stones songs and redeemed himself for his sketch-comedy performance of a cheesy modern pop song last week.

Yes, Lacey is so much better than KeSha and Omilanthi.
frown
She's also better than Paige and Katie and Tim, at the very least.
Her final song was just perfect and I enjoyed it as much then as when she first sang it.

Fortunately, I think she's good enough and quirky enough and cute enough that she should become successful on her own, now that people are aware of her.

As for the rest of the results, I don't know who's doing the voting, but they're kind of scary.

I hope you're right, Shady.

I'll certainly do my part and buy her first CD whenever it comes out.
