Don't make meatloaf with apple-cinnamon matzoh crackers as the filler. (Oops.)

Then there was the time I was camping & we were making brownies in the dutch oven. I have total crap luck with dutch ovens, but it doesn't help when you forget to add the flour. All turned out well in that case as we used it as topping for our ice cream.

Always always apply olive oil on steaks (and others)! or they won't be cooked properly. I have seen how people cook Chicken and Steak...oh....eww.....once the people who does BBQ announce they need help. It's up to me to rescue them...Never never poke or cut the steak or chicken apart...because still won't cooked right. lol As for chicken, need to be sure of bones and meats. oh well.

Remember that scene from Coal Miner's Daughter, where she bakes a pie with salt instead of sugar? I always wondered if that was true - wouldn't it smell strange as it was cooking?

Always remember:

"When toasting bread, it's VERY important that the toaster be plugged in. Setting the bread on fire with a match will NOT help."

I was in university and preparing my first dinner party ever for my new-found (and oh so sophisticated) gay friends. I called my mom and got her recipe for "duck a l'orange" She told me to marinate the duck in wine, so I did - overnight. All you could taste was the cheap white wine I marinated it in. To make things worse, I cooked peas with pearl onions, except, I used sour cocktail onions. It was probably the worst meal ever. The one saving grace was that I got everybody so drunk, I don't think anyone noticed the food. Hilarity ensued.
