Thanks guys. So far, we're getting along just fine. I guess it's easier to let things go when you no longer have an investment in your future. It's hard to see how happy he is without me though. Nobody wants to be forgettable.

I could never forget you. I suspect that part of the "I'm so happy without you" is a false front. No matter how bad the relationship is, the breakup stirs up emotions and requires adjustment.
You could always show him CJ's picture and tell him about how this guy was falling all over you in San Diego.

Sheesh! I hope he at least paid for a pizza or something while he's crashing at YOUR place. Still, it's good that the situation has resolved to amicable. And he wasn't nominated for an Eisner, was he?
BTW, I recommend a book, Blue Jelly, by Debby Bull. She was a writer for Rolling Stone and when her boyfriend left her, she decided to occupy some time by making jam with some huckleberries he left in the freezer. She discovers that jam, unlike relationships, really turns out well - and goes on to try other recipes, with comments on how they relate to her life.
From her Dilly Beans recipe: "Make sure the beans are really packed in. If they're not tightly packed in, when you're done, the beans float around, adrift, in the finished jars. It's a horrible thing to look at if you think it somehow resembles the way your life is going."
From Apple Butter: "Near the end you have to stir frequently to be sure the apple butter doesn't burn on the bottom of the pan. At this point, it starts hitting the ceiling. At least this is a mess you can clean up without therapy."
Anyways, at the end, she's worked it out and she has a whole pantry full of great food.
