I don't know how many of you watch the daytime soaps, but I have to say Days of Our Lives is really good right now.

They have a serial killer storyline going on that is pretty interesting. The episodes that aired this past week were more like a horror movie than a daytime soap.

Didn't they kill off a couple of major characters? I seem to recall hearing they were going to get rid of Jack.

We don't watch Days but do watch General Hospital and most of the current cast has been on Days at one time or another.

yup, so far they have killed off Abe Carver, Jack Devereaux and Maggie Horton.

Several others will be joining them in the next couple weeks...

You know, sometimes I wish soaps would do some kind of trade paperback treatment. Something else else to showcase just a storyline like this. I just can't get into another show, especially an hour long drama, but arcs like this I'd really like to see.

The recently cancelled Port Charles, a 30 minute spin-off of General Hosptial, developed something I'd like to see used in other soaps. They called it novels. A set story line that ran through the show for 4 to 8 weeks. You really didn't need to know anything else about to show, really, to watch on of the novels. And all of the seperate stories during that time would be part of the novel. No side stories that didn't relate.

Days does sound exciting, people dying AWESOME, gosh i remember 20 yrs ago when the salem stalker was killing people and it turned out to be roman brady, who actually turned out to be tony dimera in a mask, who actually turned out to be andre dimera, cousin of tony who got plastic surgery to look like tony. He had tony locked up in a dungeon, it was awesome.

Although on Days right now, the entire show is the serial killer storyline. There really arent any other plots going on right now because the show is in "transition".

So in a way, it has adopted this formula.

When I was really little, I went through a period where I was really sick and had to stay at home with my mom for about three weeks. I wathced Days with her for the entire time, and still remember a bit of the plot. I think some guy named Brock? (maybe way off) ended up dying in the end. And I remember a family with a like six kids (one named Holden) and the guy Holden lost his memory for a bit. And a really rich woman. And a young kid who was an alcoholic.

The things you remember...

Any of this stuff ring a bell?
