At least we get a cover in October. That I take some solace in that is a clear sign that we're on life-support.

I don't like super-skinny Saturn Girl. If anything, she should be the opposite. Being an 'iron butt' and all.
I like the image of Superboy racing Red Robin featured on the ADVENTURE COMICS cover. Don't like Tim Drake's current direction much, but I do like the costume. Every time I see it, I think Dr. Midnite's getting a guest star turn, only to be disappointed.

Of teen female heroes, Courtney in JSA comes closest that I can think of as being drawn like most fit teens that I see running around the high school. Skinny wouldn't be unusual at that age though. Those Frank eyes add to the emaciated look IMO. I mean, look at Superboy? Downright malnourished.

Hm, so that's "Red Robin" with Superboy... my first thought was, "oh cool, Doctor Mid-Nite..." Anyway, Sun Boy, Polar Boy, that's good news. A little good news cause it's only the backup (DiDio, you'll never sell the word "co-feature" to me... ) Secret Origins looks cool, and hey, a REBELS Annual, that's good news. Though pretty expensive.

A cover and we're up to two legionnaires in the backup story. You figure with a menace destroying the universe, we might get half the team by the finale.
I wonder if Star Boy and Polar Boy will be played for comedy a bit - bickering - it's the Odd Couple reference. Polar Boy all by-the-book and Star Boy fast and loose.

Actually with Star Boy and Polar Boy it'd go for a more awkward, "Of Mice and Men" type thing with Brek having to handle Thom's crazitude.

I know. I wanted to point it out but I didn't want to sound rude to FC.
Oh, and I know this isn't Legion, but on the regular DC solicits they just showed, Doug Moench and Kelley Jones on a Batman story! God loves me!

It's okay, that wouldn't be rude! Anyways, I had Sun Boy in mind when I typed Star Boy.

I think #4 already had the big Sun Boy moment we were expecting.

Maybe a few lines off Saturn Girl's face might help her expression.
So this is Superboy's first trip into the future and Brainy is already there. Is this cementing the archive miscolouring of Brainy at Superboy's induction or are they having Brainy join with Superman instead of Supergirl?

He sure does, SK! And I'm not sure that I agree about the smiles on the cover of Secret Origins 2. Who's supposed to be taking the home photo, 'cause that's what it looks like? Superboy tries to look nervously behind him without actually turning his head. Rokk and Imra are obviously looking at the photographer, as does Brainy, who's smirking in the background. Garth is just kind of thinking of something else, entirely. I find the effect charming and rather realistic, having looked similar in many holiday photos, myself.

That's an interesting observation! I wonder if the artist had that in mind. Sometimes we see photographs of superheroes on walls, usually as a flashback device. It would be fun to see a photo of this scene in a future Legion clubhouse - and in Superman's home, or the Fortress of Solitude. Maybe an early version of Computo took the picture. Or R.J. Brande - wouldn't he want to meet Superman?
