Ok, I'm curious, other than purchasing and reading Legion and related books and visiting forums, what kind of Legion oriented projects do you have going on? For example, do you draw the characters in your spare time, make your own comics, write Legion short stories, what do you do to celebrate your hobby of the Legion of Super-Heroes? Do you have any special projects you are or did work on which were Legion related?
I have lived for the Legion and one day I shall die for the Legion.

Many Legion fans are in Legion centered Amateur Press Associations such as Interlac (or APA-247 here in the UK). APAs invite regular contributions that can be personal as well as being for example reviews of comics and other media. They are also full of fan fiction and artwork so are a great medium if you want to see what others can do or try doing it yourself.

I dress up as Cockrum/Grell-era Saturn Girl. At least I did until Cobie "borrowed" it... says he's been too busy with "presentations" and "getting married" to return it.

My three main Legion 'outlets' are;
1) Conversions of characters to various games, or creating Legion-inspired characters (such as my Legion Legacies characters or my Freedom's Rejects team, both for Mutants & Masterminds).
2) Write fanfic. Mostly vignettes or 'out-takes' that I think should have been in the comic (threeboot Element Lad and Mon-El discussing the Daxamite genocide, Triplicate Girl getting an upgraded ring from Brainy that can triplicate, Invisible Kid and his alien arm), but also the insane epic 'Emerald Legion' that took over my brain for a month.
3) Idly wish I could draw, because I have *so* many images in my head... If I could draw even a little bit, I'd have made Emerald Legion into a comic-book / graphic novel, because I can see each character, each scene, clearly in my head, and I feel like the words (or, my words, anyway) don't do that sort of thing justice.

Fantisize about Saturn Girl in a maid's outfit, which didn't cause me concern until I read POV's post.

As I don't really have the artistic bent, but have an almost obsessive need to classify data, my own extracurricular Legion activity (ongoing) is the creation of a "first appearance" index of all characters, teams, races, animals, etc. who have ever appeared in a Legion story. It provides breakdowns on role, team affiliations, associated continuities, and first appearances (both in Legion comics, and comics in general). I know... very left-brained.

Those are AMAZING Jim! Siggghh. Again, I wish I had a discernable talent. I just read the books, come to this site, and try to convince my wife I'm not having a midlife crisis. After all, I'm not even halfway to my planned age of 100.
Long Live all them Legions!

I know... very left-brained. Wow.....can you elaborate on this type of information for me? As you may know, I am creating a roleplaying game based on the Legion of Super-Heroes. I'm wondering if you would be interested in sharing any of this information to expediate my efforts?

Merci beau coup, Arms Fall Off Boy. I had a blast making them and get tons of enjoyment out of them every day.
I'm thinking about doing a set of the Teen Titans.

LW is my only extracurricular Legion outlet. Last year, I indulged it even further by writing literary critiques/analyses of certain stories in my various "Revisited" threads. (Yes, I'm very left-brained, too.)

I draw stuff. And wear one of three shirts I had printed with WILDFIRE's insignia - each with a different color scheme.

Bear in mind, this is a work in progress (It's drawn from a "Name Game" I play over on the DCMB, which is ongoing, so there will be gaps; we add a couple new names every day). A quick note on the methodology: This is an index of names, not characters, so, for instance, you'll find "Lightning Boy" as appearing in Adventure 247, but "Lightning Lad" as Adventure 267. I've published the data out to the web sorted by "First Legion Appearance" then sub-sorted by "First Appearance". If you'd like to use it alphabetically, or in any other fashion, feel free to copy it over to Excel or whatever. Anyway: Here you go

I'd heard about these figures before, but I'm not sure I'd ever seen such great photos of them. They're awesome! I particularly like the Subs. Have you ever made any extras to sell?

As for myself, I celebrate the Legion by coming to LW and making inane posts all over the place.

Have you ever made any extras to sell?[/b]Wow! I didn't know I was in the news! Thanks for the strokes, Stu Rat. I've never sold any, but I did make an extra Duo Damsel as a gift for the Man from Cargg who showed me around his old hometown of Toronto once. It would be hard to charge what the time I put into them is worth. I spent 3 winters on the first set of 25 alone. Still, if someone made me an offer, I might consider it . . . Lately (last 2 years) I've been too busy (obsessessed) with writing and drawing my own graphic novel. I've written the story and done the pencil sketches. A friend who's supposed to be collaboratiing with me is doing the inks, but he's about 70 pages behind me and it's driving me crazy! Anybody know a good inker?

P.S. I also celebrate the Legion by visiting this site: http://www.studiosanning.shawbiz.ca/legion_of_super-heroes/mainpage.htm All you Legion fans, especially silver age buffs, should check it out. It's a great site and the moderators have done a ton of work on it.

A word of caution: I'm no legal expert, but making Legion figures and selling them without DC's permission could constitute copyright infringement. (There's nothing that says you can't make them for yourself or give them away.) I agree with Stu: the figures are awesome, Jim!
