The Futile Five was worth the price of admission on it's own.

Hembeck's Legion was hilarious too.

My favorite piece of artwork was Ultra Boy by Neal Adams.

This goes very nicely with my Legion and All-Star Companions.

Crude and obnoxious? How f***ing dare you!!

Seriously though, I said one little thing about the reboot probably being a crap idea and everyone here decides they hate me! *Sob* I *choke* thought you guys were my friends *sniff*

As for Giganta - I'm only saying what everyone else is thinking!

CK, please don't persist in calling somebody names. Weren't you concerned a while back about some unintended-for-publication comment you made that got into the newspaper and hurt somebody's feelings? If you wonder who the woman in the Tinya outfit is and why she merits a place in the Outpost book, just ask - don't throw in some exaggerated crack about how you think she looks. Certainly not "everybody is thinking" the way you are.

Comet King, since I consider Mercy as a part of our extended family of Legion fandom and I have asked that you refrain from these personal insults in the past, please consider this a very public announcement of your being banned as CK and as your other ID here.

Sorry you did not feel the need to be a part of our community enough to be civil.

I read the book in 2 days flat. That really says something to me! Lots of great art (pro & fan), lots of great interviews (including that raving egomaniac Mort Weisinger, and a previously-unpublished one from 25 years ago with Keith Giffen). Loads of "speculative" articles dealing with explaining various Legion mysteries (several of which wound up in the actual comics later on-- and not always for the better). It's a terrific package.

For anyone unfamiliar, the LEGION OUTPOST gang, from what I gather, evolved into INTERLAC, a Legion Amatreur Press Alliance. APAs are "fan-clubs-by-mail". Every 2 months you send in a "zine" with art, stories, articles, comments. A "Central Mailer" collates all the packages and each member gets back a "Mailing" containing a copy of EACH member's zines. What a wild, crazy way to communicate, share your love for things, and even make friends.

I should know-- I've been in the OTHER Legion APA since 1991-- KLORDNY. There's only a few mentions of it in the book (understandable), but I got a kick out of the fact that the ONE Klordny member who was mentioned by name (and had his comments included) was Kevin Hawkins, who joined the same time as I did, and who I spend every other weekend on the phone with in marathon B.S. sessions. Far out!

I now feel a bit bad that I started a thread that got somebody kicked out but he was being quiet harsh. I still working my was through the book it's quiet interesting.
