Personally, I think Gim is the one Legionnaire who benefitted the least from the Cockrum re-designs. And since most of his outfits since then have been roughly based on that one, he's had a pretty crappy string of outfits.
I hope if Gim makes it into the "re-imagined" Legion, that they re-imagine his outfit either on the model of the Adventure era uniform, or something totally different.

Gim's ADVENTURE era costume is sextastic! Shoulder fins are so hot!
I second the motion for a re-imagined version of this outfit!
ps/ even Cockrum hated CB's Cockrum-costume once he saw it in print. I know I read that somewhere.

I liked his re-boot costume with the breast plates, shoulder, elbow and knee pads. to me it just seemed practical to have that kind of protection because for one, it was never stated weither or not Gim had any degree of invulnerability in his giant size, and two with Gim being able to grow to towering sizes like he can it would make him an easy target. and it looked a little militaristic that seemed to suit Gim well since he was a SP cadet.

I liked Gim's reboot costume for the same reasons l.e.g.i.o.n.JOHN mentioned but agree with MLLASH that his Adventure era one was the best.
I LOVED seeing Alan Davis' sideburns and big collar disco-feel to it in Superboy's Legion and Another Nail.
I HOPE HOPE HOPE Gim makes it into the "re-imagined" Legion and in a really cool costume too.

My faves also were the Adventure era and the SW6 Legionnaire outfits. SW6 was pretty much like the reboot one, though it didn't have the initial helmet and had some more elbow pads and etc. Loved those two costumes! The reboot Gim's costume, though very similar, never seemed that cool until he lost the headgear. Which is odd, because I support the aforementioned idea that he needs more armor/padding as an easy target, yet found the helmet (really protects you in those thirty foot falls, I hear) uncalled for. I agree that the Cockrum until v3 costumes were all bland. I remember a few of the later ones because they were more simplistic, but nothing really jumped out at me or shouted the character's name. Even the clunky Giffen redesign, the last costume he wore with the gigantic red shoulder pads, was more favorable after his last batch. And it wasn't the costume out of that line to really write home about either, though as days go by I have more of a soft spot for it.

I didn't really have anything against any of Gim's costumes except the blue and brown one. His various red and blue outfits were ok, but I agree with Future - "bland" was the word. For me it seemed to fit since that's what I thought of him as a character anyway (sorry to his fans, Gim just didn't do it for me).

Minority here! I liked the Cockrum design in red and blue with all the buckles and the head-piece and the shoulder wing things and the cuffed gloves and boots. I didn't really care for the Grell version with all the skin, but that didn't last long. Another minority opinion, I thought the Adventure Era costume was too kitchy for Gim. I do think it worked in Superboy's Legion, though...

I liked the head gear and belts Mr Cockrum designed (which coincidentally carried over to X-Man Cyclops soon after...). Along with the shoulder thingies, they really said 'futuristic'. I was never a big fan of the cavalier boots style, however. I still think J'onn J'onzz could use an update!
My favorite costumes for most Legionnaires still come from the Adventure era, where bright color schemes ruled!
Legionnaires who have had better costumes than in the Adventure run: Princess Jecky, Dream Girl, Karate Kid, Element Lad, Light Lass (Ayla), and maybe Star Boy.

Every Star Boy costume has been excellent, imo.

WHAT, Quinn?
You didn't love his Super-Boy-Space-Scout of Space ADVENTURE era uniform? For shame!!
Those gloves with the stars were just precious!
