I apologize, I failed to notice that there were no more consonants.
That means Pink Green is incorrect.
Topic: COLORS
P _ N _ G R _ _ N
Also guessed: L, B, M, K
As Quis decided to solve instead of guessing a vowel, I think that means anyone may try to solve? Quis may also try again.

Pine green it is! My favorite Crayola color. Easily my fave shade of green. Evocative of the pine trees in Baguio City, my favorite childhood hangout and pretty much the only place in the Philippines where I would need a jacket.

Ehhh, I don't know. I mean, I'm gonna include title AND author so "by" seems too obvious to obscure.

A wise choice, I think. Having us guess the By could be a bit too confusing.

Yes! It's an amazing graphic novel Scott wrote and illustrated.
It's about four boys who discover a large pumpkin growing on top of the grave of a nameless boy who's something of a local legend in their town. The boy's brutalized and tortured body was found in the woods a few years ago, and was buried without a name.
On Halloween night after the pumpkin is made into a jack-o-lantern, one of the boys' mothers uses the inside of the pumpkin to make a pie for them. Each boy takes one quarter of the small pie. In the nights following Halloween, each boy begins having a reoccurring dream which, when they relate each of their respective dreams, is revealing how the nameless boy was murdered in segments.
They know how it happened, and they know who did it. And now they realize the nameless boy wants them to avenge his death.
It's very deep and honest. There are other ghost stories mentioned and it feels like a coming of age story as the boys look back and realize this Halloween would be their last as kids. The art is also completely gorgeous. It was published in Heavy Metal and then it was republished as a stand alone graphic novel.

sounds like an interesting story, Sarky. A nice change from the common horror theme of a malevolent force. Here we have a spirit that just wants to be avenged.
