While I do like horror movies, they tend towards older ones. It takes a bit of a gem of a recent one to get my interest. Like you, I don't find a lot of today's comedy movies funny. I'd extend that to TV too, where I just get a bit bored.

I'd like to see a new comedy movie loosely adapted from the novel "The Laughing Policeman."

There was a 1973 film of the Laughing Policeman. But I don’t think it was a comedy.

The song "The Laughing Policeman" by Charles Penrose is comedic, however.

The Laughing Policeman was a children's show in the UK based on the Penrose song. It starred Deryck Guyler , who had a long career in TV and radio with the likes of Erik Sykes and Tommy Handley. My memory cell recalls him doing a version of the Penrose song, either as part of the programme or as a single. Guyler had a distinctive voice, so you could tell if he was doing a voice over for ads.

I learned when I was younger, to lower my voice to make me sound more authoritative and knowledgeable.

I grew a beard and smoked a pipe at 6 for the same effect.

I have never smoked. Not even a puff.

I do feel for those people who worked in pubs, and have never smoked, who get illnesses through secondary smoking.

That was one of the reasons I never smoked. I hated the smell of cigarettes.

But now, thanks to Vaping, you can have a product that smells of anything you like! Hurrah!

I often sing that song (badly) in the shower.

I think that Braal dropping Violet from a aircraft started the Braal Imsk war. Sure she had a flight ring. A fligjt ring and a grudge.

They just think they dropped her. She shrank at the last minute and cannonballed the aircraft engine.

I wonder if she has to run a cannonball manoeuvre past DC legal in case of conflict with Marvel's Cannonball.

It's still easier to win a case there, than against the Fastball Special.
