We Wish You a Merry Christmas and White Chocolate Truffles - 11/22/03 02:58 AM
Since I can't buy presents for everybody, I'll send recipes instead.
You may have seen this truffle recipe before, it ran in a lot of magazines. It takes some time, but it's not hard to do.
1 1/2(750g) - 1 3/4(875g)lb white chocolate, chopped
1 can (300ml) sweetened condensed milk
1 tbsp (15ml) orange liquer
finely shredded coconut (optional)
Melt 1 lb(500g) chcolate with sweetened condensed milk. Remove from heat; stir in liquer. Chill 3 hours or until firm. Shape into 1"(2.5cm) balls; place on wax paper-lined trays. Chill until firm.
Melt remaining chocolate. Dip truffles in melted chocolate and roll in coconut, if desired. Place back onto lined trays; chill.
Makes at around 5 dozen candies.
Note: You can dip the truffles in dark chocolate as well, but make sure it's tempered.
I'll post my never-failed fudge recipe tomorrow, if I can find it.
