I've been a bit quiet here at Legion World of late with real life getting in the way of things a little. One of the things that has been getting in the way though is rather exciting and can now be spoken about.

Coming soon-ish (hopefully mid 2009) from AiT/PlanetLar is an original graphic novel, Journal - A Graphic Romance, written by Tony Lee (Hope Falls, Doctor Who: The Forgotten, Starship Troopers) and with art by yours truly. It's my first major professional comics work and it's going to be fabulous. 144 pages of romantic comedy goodness for all to enjoy.

As I say it should be released mid 2009 depending on scheduling and suchlike, but as a sneak peek you can read the first ten pages over at Tony's Livejournal here . Spread the word, let us know what you think and keep your eyes peeled for more news as it comes. smile

Congratulations Bevis! Looks like a good story setting up with lots of entanglements. I like the way you've got the main characters standing out from the background. Great variety of characters, too!

Bev, you guys got a mention from Rich J in yesterday's LitG , with the same link to Tony's LiveJournal, in the Odds and Sods section toward the end of his report. smile

That's awesome, Bevis!

I really love your art style for this story. The lines are clean and precise, and the characters' expressions are all pitch perfect.

I'm looking forward to reading the whole story next year!

Thanks guys. It's a bit of a change of style for me (although it's actually the style I used to draw in when i was much younger so it's more a return to the style) but it's gone down really well so far.

It is pretty cool to see it get a mention in LitG too. Rich was actually the person to give me my first proper professional comics work (a apage in Civil Wardrobe a couple of years back) so i know he'll give us his backing but even then it's still nice to see him mention it so early on in the process. smile
