Julius Marx, he of Action Figure Insider , has the first look at the packaging for the Mattel figures based on the Legion cartoon! To quote:

I’m still not sure of the details of if and when these are going to hit. But here is a look at a packaging concept for Mattel’s LONG awated Legion of Super Heroes figures based on the WB Animted show. I believe you can gleen a bit who might be in the first wave from those characters pictured on the card. Hopfully we will get an update on this line soon.

If what he says is right looks like the girls still get no respect.

Wow. Thanks Scott.

What's with toy companies and female figures? I just don't get their logic.

Love the Flight Ring, though!

I'm hoping they include a flight ring with each one. That way I have at least one, if not two, of each official release to go along with my sterling silver version.

NO $#!+! mad

We -better- get a triplicate girl 4-pack-- or at least a regular TG, with a 3-pack of White, Orange and Purple Lu's.

I know it's too soon to be jumping the gun, but Gary's right that toy companies are awful with making girl figures; So of course they're the first to disappear when the scalpers scarf them up to put on eBay. I'm still having no luck finding the EXP Blaster Batgirl from The Batman series at retail... and the best I can find on eBay is $15 -plus- shipping. mad

Guess it's time to find out who the toy people are in the stores around here and start flirting. wink

With three major female characters, you'd think there would be at least one in the first wave. Grr.

Awesome! It looks like the packaged flight rings are just kinda dangly on the bottom. That's kinda weird...

I'm imagine wave 1 would have at least 1 bad guy.

Oh and I think my lil' cousin said they took forever to make Starfire and Raven toys in the Teen Titans line. Anyone know if that's true?

If you look closely at the package art it appears that the flight ring 'controls' the action features of the figure.

Nothing set in stone yet DG. This is just a preliminary design, which is most likely why it was pulled from the original site. There has been no official announcement yet on the characters to be represented or even when we will see these on the shelves.

Actually, I didn't; I wondered why you were linking to JM's image instead of uploading it here. lol

I was kicking myself so hard for not saving the image the first time... urk

I linked to JM's originally to be expedient as I didn't have time to upload it to my place and just never came back here to change the link. But once I posted about it to the Clubhouse I had a copy myself. Learned too many times that if an article on another site involves an images, give tons of credit but use your own, locally, stored copy.

Expect a sneak preview of the figures (and probably their packaging too) at San Diego.
