Trek and the Legion together!

I have just achieved nerdvana!

I haven't. We're closer to the 23rd century than the Legion is so it never occurred to me.

And gee, whoever these Moys are, apparently they're a dealbreaker round these parts.

Sounds fun though.

I'd be sort of relieved if he wasn't involved, frankly. He tends to suck a lot of oxygen out of the room.

They were reboot artists, sometimes called the Archies.
I personally loved their youthful outlook on the Legion, especially since this group was presented as much younger than the original Legionnaires had become.
Sort of like the current retroboot becoming the younger #1boot.

The author indicates the he will pair off the even dozen characters for humor/conflict:
Verified:
Kirk- Cosmic Boy
Spock- Brainy
McCoy- Lightning Lad

Guesses for the rest?
Uhura- Saturn Girl both feminine communicators
Sulu- Cham both considered to be "inscrutable"
Chekov- Shady no obvious reason other than there the only ones left...

Those are logical, although it might be more fun to pair up Brainy with McCoy and Kirk with Saturn Girl (in pink bikini).

as far as i'm concerned, i don't think we should.
remember two of those titles will be written by paul levitz (vol.6 has been, imho, awful, i wasn't so underwhelmed by a legion book since jerry conway), and one by fabian nicieza (never liked his writing, first time i fell asleep reading a comic book it was an x-men story written by him, true story).
it's not about quantity, it's about quality.
at least it looks like all of those 4 books will have good art, which is always a good starting point (cinar is a good artist but he rushed too many pages).

I think Cham and Spock would make an interesting pairing, as each was the token "alien-looking" character back in the 60s.

...so I just read the interview, and it's a little disappointing that the entire Legion won't be used in some way - seems like kind of a shame to have such a large potential cast available and not use them all.

I think it would have been really cool if they broke the LSH up into various squads that had to journey to different periods Starfleet history - that way they could still keep the actual cast at a manageable size each issue, and you could have different Legionnaires for different Star Trek crews.

Matter-Eater Lad and Neelix from Voyager, Deanna Troy from Next Gen and Tellus, Odo from DS9 and Cham...loads of potential for character interplay!

Haven't the Moys also done quite a bit of Star Trek work? Seems like a natural choice for me.

What about Mr. Scott? I think he could pair up with Brainiac Five or maybe Invisible Kid.

According to the interview, Mr. Scott is not part of the Star Trek group. Too bad!

Come to think of it, the Legion could use a Scotty type of character, an amiable, exceptionally competent tech guy. Chuck played that role to some extent in the DnA Legion, although he wasn't as central to the story as Mr. Scott is to Star Trek.

I'd love for the Legion to have more non-mission-team members, people like Gear (mechanic), Impulse (medic), Chuck (pilot), M'Rissey (PR / HR dude) and Theena (monitor board duty lass).

I just hope this sells well enough they decide to do it again with "Doctor Who." Can you imagine the ramifications of a Time Bubble crashing with the TARDIS mid-timestream?

Unfortunately, no matter how well the Star Trek/Legion crossover sells, they can't just "do it again" with Dr. Who. There are licensing issues and legal issues involved. Look at how long it took to finally publish the JLA/Avengers crossover.

Well, maybe.

But we could get a Legion/Bugs Bunny & Daffy Duck cross over pretty quick.
