This question may have been raised and answered before. If so my apologies.

When Laurel Kent was introduced in Superboy 217, when she first met Superboy (who had no knowledge of who she was) she told him her name was Elna. Why?

Neither the readers nor Superboy had met a Laurel in the 30th century so what was the point in her not just saying "my name is Laurel"?????

It was a hint, presumablely to Clark and the readers. Elna is Lane scrambled. Laurel is the descendant of Clark Kent and Lois Lane.

Especially when there was a close up of her face when she said "I look very much like the girl you're destined to marry". She defintely didn't look like Lana Lang, Lori Lemaris, etc at all only looked like Lois. So in a way it showed who Clark would eventually chose.

That and the way Clark got so Hot for her. And Her for him. You know...I wish they had done a subplot of Laurel and Lu hanging out and having her thoughts on her crush for Clark and having a sorta resentment for Laurel representing that she would never get Clark...i think it would have made an excellent subplot of sorts.

Nice idea, S-S, but Lu was already married to Chuck by then. Not that that would prevent such a story though.

Definetely wouldn't prevent such a story...after all she still was in crush/love mode during the whole Conspriacy thing and was her motive for being part of it.
